The small family-owned market on the corner
Has been there since 1942.
It's seen war bonds and margarine rations
When Hitler's SS stomped through Paris,
And it took families' food stamps
While the Viet Cong blew up our soldiers
Rocking out to Jimi Hendrix on the AFVN.
Now it accepts EBT cards from baby mommas
And unemployed construction workers.
God Bless America !
