*Sav's POV *

Tuesday

The next day I woke up to an empty and cold bed. I sighed and let go of his pillow before I sat up. The house was really quiet without him here and I didn't like it. It hasn't even been a full 24 hours and i already miss him, a lot. Of course staying in our apartment didn't help either. There were bits and pieces of him everywhere.  I missed him so much. I grumbled my way out of bed and into the shower, stripping off Christopher's shirt as I walked into the bathroom. I hopped in and out of the warm water before I got dressed for work.

Work started at 8:30 and I worked relentlessly.  It helped keep my mind off of my absent boyfriend, I discovered. I called the author to confirm the details Chris and I had discussed yesterday.  After getting the approval from them, I called a staff meeting to get things in motion for the next book. Then I called Ashley to set up the dates for the book tour and told her to email them to me, Chris and the writer. I needed everyone in the loop. Then I Skype the writer about the sequel, discussed the possibility if it being a series and told her to keep me informed about what she wanted. After all, without her, the company wouldn't be so cheery right now. Lunch rolled around and I called Sam to see if she was free. She was and we met up at the subway down the street.

"Sav!" she greeted me happily, joining me in line to get our sandwiches.  I gave her a hug.

"Hi Sammy."

We ordered our meals and paid before we took a seat. She looked at me then the door with a question on her face.

"No boy toy?" she questioned. I sighed.

"He's in London for a week. A man called claiming to be his father and he went to go see if it was true," I said, then took a dup if my tea. She frowned.

"His parents are dead, though right?" I made an 'i know right' face and nodded.

"That's what we both thought but the man said he could prove it and Chris wanted to make sure it wasn't him before dismissing him completely," I said. Sam sighed and reached for my hand. I clasped my hand in hers and I felt some comfort in the action.

"How long is he going to be gone?"

"A week," I grumbled.  "It hadn't even been a day and I miss him so much already." She nodded.

"I bet. After everything you've been through," she sympathized. I sighed and shook my head, trying to get rid or the ache for my Chris.

"He'll be back before I know it," I said trying to convince the both of us. She nodded and smiled.

"Yep, and when he comes back, it'll mean great 'I missed you sex' and you know that's going to be fun," she added grinning. I chuckled and smacked her arm playfully.

"I love you girl, but sometimes I wonder about you're sanity," I joked. She rolled her eyes.

"I'm not crazy, my mother had me tested, " she quoted, stealing a line from The Big Bang Theory. I chuckled and we got back to our lunch.

Going back to work, I was disappointed to find out that there wasn't much to do besides going through manuscripts.  I grabbed a couple and went around distributing them. I wanted them to read it, and give a report so I can look through both later on. I returned to my own office to start on my own pile of work.

Thankfully, working kept me busy until it was time to go home. I begrudingly gathered my stuff and embarked on the 15 minute walk to my apartment.  I opened the door and sighed. It'd be just me tonight, again. I set my bag down and went to our room. I grabbed the tee shirt I wore last night and changed into it before I went to grab some food from the kitchen. Later that night, I ended up on the couch, drinking a beer and watching some pointless reality show. I wanted to call Chris but I didn't know what the time difference was and I didn't want to wake him up if he was asleep so I just stayed in the couch, drinking a beer and watching TV.
