Nikolas

I see him smiling running into me. He bumps into me and I grab him to steady him so he won't fall.

Why does he run around when he is so chubby?

I glare at him but it seems his happiness can't be hindered by anything!

"Can I kiss you?" He asks
Before I can even reply, he plants his hands on my cheek and kisses me swiftly and giggles, then he looks at me waiting for my reaction.

"Of course you can kiss me! You got your grandfather to buy me for you" I say angrily

"Wha...what are you talking about?' He stammers

I can't believe he's pretending!

"You think I don't know about your hot little crush on me! Always hiding in corners looking at me and so hot for me!" I reply

"I didn't tell grandfather about you till he asked me today" he says quietly

"Oh shut up! Everyone knows about your desperate embarrassing crush on me, but mark my words, I'll pay back every single penny your grandfather is paying my family for you!"

He looks at me and turns back the way he came. Well good for him.
He thinks I didn't hear his grandfather asking him if he should buy me for him.

I turn around and find my parents and sister looking at me.

"Mum, don't let Nik marry that boy! He's ugly!" My sister wines

"Nikolas, you don't have to do this for out family, you don't have to get married, we can find a solution" my father says

"Yes Nik, this isn't necessary, we can sell the house and our stuff, we don't have to accept Harold's proposal" my mother says

After my parents went bankrupt and had to liquidate most of their assets, we almost had nothing left.
Then one day, Harold came and told my parents he would invest in their business and clear all their debts in exchange for me marrying his grandson.
My parents clearly refused but I had overheard and insisted on helping out.

"I already gave my word" I tell them

My mother sighs and tells me,

"The wedding is tomorrow"

"What? So soon?" I ask

"Harold doesn't see the need to wait" my father says

"Tomorrow it is then" I say

I turn around and see my friends coming towards me.

"Nik, we all heard, I can't believe you're stuck with tree hugger" Alexia my girlfriend says

"Yeah, don't worry, tomorrow we'll do our best to save you from his embarrassing crush on him, we won't let you suffer alone" another friend adds

"But wow, marrying a Demakide! You will be swimming in money,at least that's a plus" they add

I just sigh and drift off as they talk and talk.

Max

I ran to grandfather crying in his study after the guests had left.

"Now what? You get him a husband and he ends up crying" grandfather mutters

"I don't want to marry Nik" I say

"Why?" Grandfather asks calmy

"He said you are giving them money!" I exclaim

"You naive child, money is power, haven't you learnt anything from me?" He say

"Please grandfather" I beg

"Stop begging! The wedding is tomorrow" he says

"But grandfather!" I try to protest

"Do it or I'll stop paying for your mother's treatment" he threatens

"Yes grandfather" I say quietly subdued

He was actually evil enough to do it. My mother was in a very expensive rehab centre, I didn't have access to my funds or the trust fund accounts my father set  up for me.
I would have to do this for my mother.

I go to my bedroom and  try to write her a letter telling her about everything. But I can't even do it.

Would being married to Nik be so bad?
