Chapter 13

Nik's

I walk in and I see Max straddling a certain guys laps giggling as he feeds him breakfast. He looks really good,model handsome.

He turns on said guy's laps and says,

"Nik?"

I look at him as he gets of the laps of the man and steady my breathing. I look at them again but the guy doesn't let him go, he holds him possessively around the waist. My eyes flicker down to their hands holding each other. I get the message.

This is what is was going to come out of my behaviour and many mistakes. It was bound to happen, I cheated on him and of course he'd find someone else.

What would yelling or shouting do? It would just prove more to him how much of a bastard I've been. I was raging inside and green with envy, I wanted to scream, fight, yell, tear down this house but what scared me more was what I was feeling. My chest was hurting, I felt my eyes stinging.
I don't have a right to react like this and I don't even know why I am feeling this way. It must be shock.

" I brought breakfast, won't you introduce me ?" I finally say putting the paper bags on the table.

"Are you sure? Nik meet Kish, Kish meet Nik' he introduces us

I stick out my hand for a handshake but Kish just tightens his arms around Max's waist and ignores my hand. Max just shrugs and I put my hand back.

" Thanks for breakfast, but you didn't have to " Max says

"He's right, I take good care of him, don't i Max?" Kish asks
Max smiles and nods his head.

"Max,Can I see in you in the kitchen?" I ask.
I finally know what I should

Kish immediately changes his stance and holds Max protectively. I notice that too.

"Alright, keep it fast, I'm really hungry"  Max says, he nods to Kish and gives him a hug, then Kish lets him go.

We enter the kitchen and I lean on the sink while Max stands by the door. I don't know where to start from. What do I even say? After a few minutes of silence and looking at each other,
Max starts,

"Look Nik, don't create one of your scenes, I'm not ready to hear it! You do as you please with your life, I'll do as I please with mine. Kish is my lover and he's been by my side since day one, deal with it! He says ready to take me on.

" Are you happy?" I cut him off

He looks at me with an unbelieving face and says,

"Yes, I'm happy"

"With him?" I ask

"Yeah, Kish makes me happy" he replies

"You don't know how much that means to me, I feel a little relieved" I say

"Relieved?" He scoffs

How can I explain to him? How can I dredge that incident back up again. It seems he chooses to pretend not to remember it and that's how he deals with it, I won't bring it up.

"Never mind, I'll sign the divorce papers tomorrow" I tell him

"What?" He asks

"I said I'll sign" I tell him going to push open the door

"I'll believe it when I see them" I say

"I keep my promises" I say

"Did you keep the ones you made to me?" He says unbelieving as I head out of his and his boyfriends house.

I go back home and call my lawyer,

"Bring me those papers please" I say to him stripping out of my shirt and pants and falling on my bed.

"The divorce papers?" He asks shocked,
"I thought you weren't signing those" he continues

"Max is happy, bring them right now, I don't want to think hard" I say

"Okay sir" he says. "I'm bringing them right now"

My head is pounding, I'm feeling a hollowing loss over my decision and I don't know why. I'm almost drifting off to the sleep when I hear her annoying voice

"Woohuu, Nik?" I hear my sister say

"What do you want?" I groan as the room floods with light. I sit up blinking as i feel the bed dip and a soft small hand tapping my cheek awake

"Nik! What's wrong with you? Are you sick?

" No, I'm fine" I tell her turning away from her

"Nik, look at me" she says turning my face towards her, "is it Max?" She asks with a knowing look

I'm saved from answering by a knock on the door,

"Would you get that?" I ask her

She sighs as she opens the door and the lawyer hurries in. He opens his brief case and hands over the papers,

"All in order" he says giving me a pen, "I'll take them to him tomorrow so he can sign and then we'll file them in court, this won't take long" he says

I grab the pen ready to sign but before I can even sign, they are grabbed out of my hands and I look up angry only to see Ventura grab them out of hands away from my reach.

"Nikolas Daniel Starlinksy, are these divorce papers?please don't sign yet, talk to him" she pleads

"I tried but I couldn't, he's happy now, that's all I want for him Ven, you know its what I've always wanted for him. Before today, I can't say I've seen him being genuinely happy, smiling or playful. I saw that today Ven, he has a boyfriend, you understand right?" I tell her

"Yes, but I still feel you could have talked to him" she says handing me the papers.

"This is the best decision" I tell her as I sign and then go give them to the lawyer. As I return back to the bedroom, she pulls a bag out of her purse and gives it to me,

"Gummy bears!Thank you" I say

"I don't support how you are handling it, I still think you need to talk to Max, he will understand, I can't force you but I'm proud of you Nik, for putting him fast" she says giving me a big hug.

"Why are you being so nice?" I ask her on second thought, this girl wasn't typically nice, she's not a bad person but something was definitely up.
She immediately pushes away and grabs her purse,she hurries to the door and tosses me something and closes the door.
It was the credit card I gave her.

I check that card balance on my phone and shout,

"Ventura!"

"Bye, love you" she says

How much shopping can you do in a day? I wonder

Most of you won't like this chapter, because its not what you expected, thar makes it predictable, but if you've read my stories before, its always a happy ending but stories are stories, enjoy
