Chapter 43 (Forks And Spoons)

Now what other couples could say they woke up naked in a bathtub, wrapped up in each other's arms like we currently were? No one I knew had ever awakened in this situation before, then again I've never asked anyone because it wasn't a question that I randomly brought up to everyone I knew.

Brant didn't want to get up and turn off the blaring alarm clock in the other room, so we lied there, smiling at one another like a pair of goofballs. He stroked my cheek with his thumb, admiring how I was snuggled comfortably into his chest. My face was hot in embarrassment. I can't believe I actually let him make love to me in a bathtub last night. What was wrong with me and my hormones?

He and I haven't said much so far, just our normal morning greetings. From the second we woke up together he hasn't stopped staring at me like he was ready for us to be together for forever. It wasn't a bad thing, but I could hardly look at him with how that flaming loved filled look made me feel all shy and giddy. Could he be anymore perfect?

"What if I told you that I wanted to get married in August and on the day that Lillian passed?" he suddenly decided to bring up. "Would that be inappropriate? I don't want you or you're dad to be offended by having a celebration on that day, but I thought we could get married in memory of her. She and my mother wanted us to be together, I thought it would be nice, if you don't think it's weird."

It was the sweetest, most unusual thought I have ever heard. I knew he had loved my mother as if she was his own, but I guess I never figured it was to this extent. "I was thinking that it would be perfect for me to say my vows to you on one of the most tragic days for us. I'll be here for you in the good and bad times, isn't that part of the marriage agreement?"

"It is," I softly replied.

He smiled my way and returned to staring at me in that sweet romantic way he's been doing all morning. I wanted to lie here in his arms for forever, even if the bathtub was a strange place to have share an enchanting time like this together. When you're two oddballs like us, you don't care where the place is as long as you're caught up in one another and the mood is right. Right now the atmosphere was beyond that mark. Now he was inching his face closer to me to make it ten times better than it already was.

His strong hand slid up my thigh the closer his lips got to mine. My heart rate picked up when his lips faintly grazed across my own. Those dark blue eyes of his stayed locked on mine as he swirled his thumb around the inside of my thigh. I couldn't catch the small squeak I gave at his touch before I made the sound, it came rushing out too quickly.

Our hot breath mingled together. I licked my drying lips in anticipation. He pulled away, though I had no time to pout. He lifted my leg his hand had been touching, pushing it over his so that he could lie in between my body. As soon as he pulled my leg up over his hip, his lips crushed against my lips in a passionate kiss that shook off any morning fatigue that I had.

His tongue met mine, intensifying the already heated kiss by a tenfold. One set of my fingers went to his hair, the other gently dug into his hip and tugged him closer to me. I didn't mind the rough kiss he forced on me, I encouraged it by kissing him back with the same strength. He pulled away slightly, biting his lower lip while he softly groaned in his throat about something he thought about in the middle of the kiss.

"What is it?" I quietly asked.

He brushed his fingertips down my chest, seeming pained by the sight of me. "I really want to continue this with you, but I know that in a few minutes..." The blaring noise of the alarm resounding in the bedroom cut off his words. "I have to get ready for work," he sighed. He lowered his head and softly kissed my tender lips. "I'm sorry, my beautiful filly, but this stud has to work no matter how much he wishes he could stay home and make love to you all day."
