TASK FIVE: Once Upon a Dream

"Jess, it was mean. It really was."

"Nice doesn't always get the job done, Calix."

The twins stood on opposite sides of the desk, comparing notes on the Selected and purposefully avoiding discussion about the four people they had sent home after they failed to impress during interrogations. Calix had been harsher than his sister this time and dropped the ax on Casimir and both Green boys, while Jessamine had suggested that Rosalie wasn't worth his time. The four had been gone within the hour.

"So you think this will work?" Calix looked down at Jessamine's plans for tomorrow and raised an eyebrow at her. Usually Jessamine wasn't so thorough with her plans but this time it seemed that his sister had everything done perfectly.

"Of course. I'm sure most of the girls will love having a date with you and I've got it figured out so it'll go smoothly. That way you won't have to burst a blood vessel worrying about whether or not it'll go well!" Jessamine always made things sound so simple, like nothing would go wrong because she said so. Calix usually appreciated her confidence but he was preoccupied with too many worries to be calmed that easily.

"And what about you? You only have three left, if this goes badly you can't send them all home." He was more worried about his sister's dates going well, really. If they went well, she might choose before he did and it would just be more pressure for him to deal with.

"Don't worry, dear brother, I have this all under control... Are you going to tell me about what happened today or not?" She yawned as she spoke, gathering her papers and sighing when she looked at the clock and saw that it was almost midnight and they were still awake planning. Neither of them had slept more than five hours in days, Jessamine could see the dark circles around her brother's eyes already.

"Get some sleep and we'll talk." Calix stepped around the desk and hugged his sister tightly, ignoring her protests towards what he had said. They were both tired and he knew he couldn't deal with the details of the day until he slept a little.

"Calix I'm tired of you-"

"There are cobwebs in your hair."

That was the end of the conversation, his sister falling silent as soon as he mentioned it. She pulled herself out of the hug and gathered her things before saying goodnight and leaving the study. Calix just sighed and picked up the notepad that had the list of dates he had to go on tomorrow. Eight girls in one day was much too much. He needed to sleep, he really did. Sleep and then eight dates and so many decisions ahead of him. Sleep was probably the easiest one he could make. At least nothing could bother him in his sleep...

After your eventful day and the interrogation you went through, you slept like a log that night. When you woke up in the morning, your maids were there to prepare you for the day. They inform you that you will either be going on a date with Calix for our girls or Jessamine for the few boys remaining. After you get ready, you are to report to the study to meet your designated Royal and then go on a date that was planned by Jessamine. Maybe you're excited, maybe you're terrified, maybe you don't care. But one thing's for sure. You need to look your best.

YOUR TASK: So this is the task that most of you have probably been waiting for since the beginning of the Games. Yes, you get to go on a date with Calix or Jessamine. *much confetti*

But you aren't choosing your dates, that would be much too simple. These are pre-planned by Jessamine so naturally, your assigned date will be planned by me! These will be posted in the next chapter and you will not complain and you will not trade and you will like it!

Note that either Calix or Jessamine knows most of what occurred between you and their sibling in the study, so they may bring up things you said (or did *cough* Arian *cough* Dylan) the day before.

ELIMINATIONS: Note that for the first time, we will probably actually have to vote on eliminations. Three of you will be leaving us this task, leaving us with eight competitors.
