"What's wrong with you?" Ezra looked suspicious.

"Nothing" I tried to wipe the grin off of my face. Byron visited me earlier. He had stayed and talked with me for a bit.

"You've been weird lately" Ezra gave me a dirty look.

"No I haven't" I argued with him. They were helping me carry my things back to my room. Actually, they were doing all the carrying. My arm wasn't healed yet. My back was still sore so I would have another week or so off from training.

It was passing time, as we walked to my room.

"Iris" I heard Brenda. "Are you better?" I turned to her. She was walking with some friends.

"Yeah much better" I lifted my arm.

"I'm sorry to hear what happened- that was a low blow. She should be disqualified for that. She should have known to take it easy on you- you aren't even Second Series"

"Its okay" I shrugged. "Did she Rank?"

"Not in the top ten" Brenda smirked. I couldn't help smiling. That was good news at least. "Karma is a bitch. Alright I'll visit you later-see you guys" she waved at us and left.

"She is hot" Ezra followed her with his eyes. "I like her"

"She is too old for you" I rolled my eyes at him. "and you are not her type"

Ezra gave me a dirty look.

"I'm every girls type" he glanced at another girl. She smiled at him and I rolled my eyes.

"Iris" I heard another girl. I turned looking for the source. It was a girl in my Literature class, I had spoken to her a few times.

"How are you?" she walked quickly towards me. "I'm so sorry- I tried to go see you a few times at the infirmary"

"Yeah" I cleared my throat. "I didn't want to see anybody. It was pretty rough"

"No I understand" she gave me one armed hug. She was probably afraid to touch me. "Jordan was a jerk- I can't believe she did that." She made a face. "Are you going to your room? Do you need any help?"

"Sure you can help us" Thomas muttered behind me. I lifted an eyebrow at Lisa. "Want to help me carry some of this"

"Yes of course" Lisa smiled at him. They stepped in behind us, talking.

Ezra helped me lay down in my bed.

"Oh wow your room is so nice" Lisa looked around. I adjusted myself. "You got lucky"

"Yeah, I'm glad I waited last minute to sign up for a room" I quickly lied.

"I'll keep that in mind next year" she glanced around. "Well, I'll let you rest. Let me know if you need anything, Iris. Feel better. Hopefully we'll see you on Monday for classes."

Thomas left with her.

Ares appeared next to me. He let out a low twinkling sound. He wanted to be let out. Ezra opened the window for him and he left.

"So" Ezra sat down next to me. "Do you want me to keep you company?"

"You don't have to Ezra" I yawned. I stuffed a pillow behind me. Nurse Gail had let me go on the condition that I wear a brace for the next couple of weeks. The wound was taking a while to heal. "I'm really tired."

"Do you want your drugs?" he got to his feet.

"Yes" I nodded. I needed something to numb the pain. Unfortunately, I had to take something stronger than the standard sleeping potion. Nurse Gail and a physician had decided to give me real pain killers. "Please"
