8. Ground Breaking

I woke up the next morning feeling a little bit disoriented. I know that I have to open my eyes for I have an eight o'clock appointment that day with the other board members because today is the ground breaking of the Consunji Hotel that will be built in the highlands of Tagaytay. This is the first ever project after the merge. Naiisip ko pa lang na makikita ko na naman si Yto at si Demitri. Masisira na naman ang araw ko. I know that the whole lot will be there. I raised my hand to look for my phone so I could call my secretary but my phone isn't in my bedside table. I opened my eyes and I was greeted by white walls and monochormatic paintings. My mouth parted a bit. Where are my lavander walls and my amber curtains? I sat up and climbed down the bed to look around. Where am I? I sighed when I remember Hades Vejar's visit last night. Dinala niya nga pala ako dito sa bahay niya. I don't know where I am. I looked at the wall clock that was hanging on my right. Six forty-five na pala. I need to get out of here and go home. Lumakad ako palabas ng silid. Hahanapin ko pa siya. Nasaan na kaya ang lalaking iyon.

"Hades?" I yelled. "Hades?" Nag-echo ang boses ko. Ang laki ng bahay na iyon. Sa sobrang laki mukhang palasyo na. Mas malaki pa yata ito sa bahay namin. And the room that we slept in - yes we slept together - arm by arm - pero walang nangyari. Hindi ko rin naman hahayaan na may mangyari. "Good morning, my queen." I heard him greeted me. Napatingin ako sa ibaba ng hagdanan. He was shirtless. He was only wearing his white boxers shorts. His body is nakalantad like that. He looked like a demigod. I just rolled my eyes at him. Nakita kong ni-flex niya pa iyong biceps niya.

"I bet Zeus had a nicer biceps than yours." Hindi ko mapigilang sabi. Napanganga siya. Bigla siyang sumimangot.

"I'm a better lover."

"I don't know that yet. I haven't gone to bed with your ---"

Hindi ko alam kung paano niya nagawang makalapit sa akin. Bigla na lang niyang kinain ang labi ko - yes - kinain. Hindi hinalikan. He bit my lower lip and pushed his tongue inside my mouth. Noong iniwan niya ako, walang gabing hindi ako umiyak but as the days passed by, nababawasan ang mga luha, nakakalimutan kong may masakit until I'm able to stand up with my own two feet and live.

I never moved on.

I pushed him away. "God! Why do you keep on kissing me. Sabi ko sa'yo 'wag mo akong landiin. I'm busy you know."

He took my hand and kissed my palm. Lagi niyang ginagawa iyon noon. Tinaasan ko lang siya ng kilay.

"Hades, I need to leave." Sabi ko. "We have an eight o'clock ground breaking cermony - I don't even know where I am. I need to be in Tagaytay at exactly eight,"

"You're already in Tagayta, my queen." Malumanay na wika niya. Tumitig ako sa kanya. He took my hand and we went out of the house. My mouth parted when I saw the fountain - Hera's fountain in the middle of his garden. Huminto kaming dalawa sa tapat niyon. He made me face Hera.
