William and I walked through the gardens in silence for awhile before he took a seat on one of the stone benches. He motioned for me to sit with him but I got the feeling that he had something to say.

"Do you honestly believe I would want to be with Alex again?" He asked.

I bit my lip. I didn't know if I believed that or not. I didn't think he did but he did ignore me for weeks to be with her. He never told me why it took him so long to come back and he had broken up with her only days before he came to see me.

"I don't know. Maybe if I had died..."

"No. If you died I would never want anyone else. I'm so tired of dealing with this conflict between you two. What is it going to take to end it?"

"Let me kill her," I said smoothly.

"She hasn't done anything to warrant death. Come up with something else."

"Send her away. I don't want her living in the same house as you."

"Done," he agreed, "Now will you drop it?"

I nodded, "As soon as she is out of here I'll drop it."

"Fine. There was something else I wanted to talk to you about," he said.

"What's that?"

"I've been thinking a lot about our future and there has been a lot of talk about me taking over soon. I want to bring kinetics back into the kingdom."

"I want to unite again as well but you have to understand what kinetics have been through since Micah has been king."

"The camps are a good idea, Lily."

"In theory but in practice, kinetics were beaten, starved, and forced to live in tents until they were forced into a private wing of the army. Kinetics were enslaved, Will, and they don't just forget about that."

"I'm not asking them to forget it, I'm asking that we put aside our differences and find a solution. Clearly, we are weak separated."

I nodded absently, "I know. Let me get my council situation under control before we talk about uniting."

"Deal," he said with a small smile, "The meeting should be starting soon."

We stood in unison and made our way back through the gardens. They really were beautiful and I could see why Emma spent so much time here.

We entered the house and made our way to the office but we were greeted with angry tones and some yelling. I wondered what the hell this could be about but I didn't want to wait another second to find out.

I pushed the thick doors open to reveal my father with his arm around Emma's neck. Micah and a couple others stood tense and angry just feet from them. Emma looked terrified but somehow calm at the same time.

"What's going on here?" I demanded to know.

"We are leaving, Lilith," my father responded harshly.

"Why?"

"Hold them off for now. I'll explain later."

"No, explain now," I responded.

"He's working against us," he shot a glare to Micah, "He's the reason your mother is dead and now he wants to take you from me as well. He's going to kill you and put that bitch in your place to rule this kingdom."

I was deeply confused by what he was talking about. I knew my expression showed it but there wasn't much I could do to hide it.

"What are you talking about?"
