Chapter Twenty-Nine

Charlie’s POV

It was lunch time and I was at my locker, putting some books in and getting the flash drive that contains some of my projects and I'm hungry but since I forgot my wallet at home, i decided to just finish the unfinished projects. The hallway was normally busy with students chatting and walking around, or so I thought

Spencer suddenly appeared by my locker with a smirked, “Aren’t you jealous?”

I looked at her questioningly, “Of what?”

“Of half the student body drooling over your girlfriend”

I quickly looked around and saw Elise walking in our hallway, wearing a simple but pretty sundress, successfully covering her baby bump. Her blonde hair swaying with every step, her bright blue eyes sparkling with happiness and her smile, just so beautiful

“There you are! I’ve been looking everywhere for you!” Elise said with a smile, she was carrying a container

Spencer subtly bent over and stood back again, “Here’s your jaw back” she said teasingly, pretending to give me something, “It fell when Elise arrived”

Elise turned to Spencer and giggled, “Thanks for calling me by the way”

“No biggie, I know Charlie here needs to fuel up since she’s so busy with school” Spencer turned to me with a knowing look

“Wait a sec, you called her? Why?” I asked Spencer

“Because you said you left your wallet at home and you don’t want to take my extra money and it’s almost lunch time so I called your girlfriend” Spencer answered with a smirk

“And I went by Taco bell and bought your favorite tacos!” Elise said, showing me the bag, “And I bought some more for Spencer and your other friends, which I haven’t met yet”

“Ohhh...burn!” Spencer jokingly mocked. I gave her a look and she just giggled

“Okay then let’s go to the cafeteria and eat!” Spencer said

At the lunch table, Spencer took a bit of the lunch menu and we sat at our usual table with Elise sitting at my left and Spencer in front of us, while people continuously looking at Elise with awe

“Wow Elise, you’re like a school celebrity” Spencer commented

“Not really, I was just a hard-working student during my time here” Elise smiled and opened the bag

“Thanks for bringing me lunch Elise” I said

“Well, I wouldn’t actually call this lunch, since, you know, it’s only tacos, I should really learn how to cook”

“And when you finally know learn to cook, Charlie and I will be there, ready to eat!” Spencer joked

Elise chuckled, “So when are you’re other friends coming?” just as Elise finished saying those words, Ally and Norah, quickly took their seats on my right side

“Oh my gosh guys! Did you hear? Elise Montgomery is here!” Ally excitedly spoke “THE Elise Montgomery! The head cheerleader who won the school 3 consecutive national championships!”

“And not to mention, prom queen for 2 years and a student body excellence awardee, I swear that girl is just perfect in every way!” Norah continued “I so totally still have a girl crush on her!”

“Me too! I wish I saw her, I bet she’s still as beautiful as before” Ally said

I did mention before that Elise was very popular at school during her time, and most of this is because despite being a popular cheerleader and an outstanding student, she remained humble and friendly and she just so likeable in every way that high school students from all year levels, even middle school students, idolize and look up to her. Norah and Ally are just two of the dozens of people who really like her a lot
