Charlie’s POV

Geometry class was still going on, but my mind is floating elsewhere. They said one famous university will come visit later to “encourage” us to enroll to their school, some of my classmates were thrilled, some were kinda okay with it and then there’s me, the one that doesn’t give a fuck

These past few days have been one heck of a rollercoaster ride and it’s not over. Just when Elise and I were getting back to normal with our relationship, another bump appeared on our road: the possibility of Elise carrying James’s baby

Just the thought of it makes me cringe.

As of now, I still don’t know if Elise really is pregnant. Even my mom and aunt Cath still isn’t sure, maybe mom’s right, maybe it’s just some kind of sickness, we have been spending most of our time hanging out at our backyards and the weather is unpredictable. Maybe it is just a sickness or even food poisoning

“Charlie!”

I was zapped out of my thoughts when my geometry teacher and class adviser, Ms. Rose called me

“I’m sorry miss, what did you say?” I asked politely

Some of my classmates giggled and Ms. Rose asked again, “please solve question 6 on the board” she said and looked at me with concern “are you alright Charlie?”

I smiled slightly as I went to the chalk board, ”yes miss, I just got distracted for a bit that’s all” then I proceed to answer question 6

The class ended and I was about to head out to my next class when Ms. Rose asked me to stay for a bit.

When we’re finally alone, Ms. Rose turned to me and asked with genuine concern “You’re not yourself this past few weeks Charlie, is everything alright at home?”

Ms. Rose is one of those teachers that are not too strict but not too careless either, she’s a friend outside of school and a teacher inside. She’s very easy to talk to and she is my favorite teacher but I think this problem of mine is none of her business

“Everything’s fine Miss” I answered with a smile

Ms. Rose looked at me, as if she’s trying to read my mind, said “Do you want to talk about it?”

I sighed, no point in acting like nothing’s wrong, might as well answer her truthfully

“No miss, I think I can manage on my own” I answered politely

“Okay then, I just don’t want you to get too distracted, some of the teachers are telling me that you’ve failed some of their quizzes and have been inactive during class discussions, it has been affecting your grades and I hate to see one of my honor students fail, especially now that graduation is near“

“I understand, I’ll try to catch up” I reassured her

Ms. Rose nodded and smiled, “if you’re ready to talk, I’m always available”

I smiled and left the classroom and made my way to my next class

Elise’s POV

I woke up at around 10 am, still in my dinner outfit then I remembered what happened last night

“I suddenly felt like throwing up and then I did threw up then I felt dizzy then I went to sleep” I spoke as I recall what happened last night

I slowly got out of bed and went to see where my mom is. I found her at the living room, watching her favorite cooking show
