Chapter III - Project 101

KIM'S POV

Panandaliang natulala ito. Maging ako. Hindi ko akalaing sa ganitong pagkakataon pa kami magkikita. Never in my wildest imagination kong naisip na magkikita pa kami ulit. I am not good in familiarizing faces anyway. But he's somewhat a catch. He's an heir of the company I am working with. Small world, in deed.

"Really? Pa'no ka napunta rito?"

"Wait, hijo, magkakilala na ba kayo?"

Sabay kaming sumagot. Hindi ang akin, oo naman ang kanya. Halata sa mukha nito ang pagkalito.

"I mean Sir, I am not so certain if we really know ach other. Nagkabanggaan lang po kasi kami sa isang Chinese Restaurant. 'Yun lang po." Nakita kong umangat ang kaliwang bahagi ng labi niya. I've been trying to hold myself not to roll my eyes na kanina ko pang gustong gawin.

"Ah. Gano'n ba? Eh di mabuti. Napagdesisyunan ko kasing kayong dalawa na lang ang humandle nitong bagong project natin. Don't you think it's a good idea Xian?"

"Yes Tito. It's a good one." Mas lalo pang sumarap ang mga ngiti nito. I can feel tons of sarcasm in his smile and actions.

It is never a good one. How can I even give my full trust to someone I barely know? Seriously? I want to protest. I really want to but protesting means I would not be professional enough to work in different environments. Tumango ako. I want to please the boss. I am here for work. If the boss wants me to work with that Alexander Xian Lim Uy, then I cannot say no.

"Then great, you have my full trust. So never ever turn me down. Alam ko namang kaya niyo. By tomorrow, you two can start."

Nakipagkamay si Mr. Tan sa akin. Tinanggap ko naman ito. I can sense kung gaano ito ka-proud sa pamangkin niya. He has been bragging his nephew's achievements for a couple of minutes already. By Mr. Tan's words, I was somehow convinced that Engr. Lim Uy is really a big thing.

"Oh stop bragging Tito. You might scare this beautiful lady." However, his act of humility still promotes lavish bragging. I sarcastically chuckled. I didn't help but roll my eyes. Alam kong nakita niya ito ad I really don't care at all.

"Dapat ka naman talagang ipagmayabang, hijo! You are Philippine's top bachelor for 2011. But sadly, this year might be your last. Ikakasal ka na."

Namilog ang mga mata ko. He seemed so young to settle down and from what I heard with Diane, wala naman itong asawa. Well, this confirmed that wala pa siyang asawa ngunit mapapangasawa, meron.

"Let's not talk about this please, Tito." Bigla itong tumikhim at sumeryoso ang pagmumukha.

The girl must be so lucky. Mapapangasawa niya ang pinaka-elite na bachelor ng panahon naming. He's a successful in his field. He is rich. He got the looks, not to mention the height, too. He seemed smart and decent. 'Yun nga lang, I don't think he could be so good in handling relationships. Well, we can never judge a book by its cover.

Hindi nagtagal, ganap at personal akong ipinakilala ni Engr. Harold sa iba pang mga tycoons. I was amazed with their reactions. Ang sabi pa sa akin, nadagdagan ang mga gustong mag-invest sa aming project. Ang sarap sa feeling na isa na ako sa mga income-generating employee ng kumpanya. Nagpakitang gilas ako. Ipinakita ko yung bagong designs ko for the facilities ng condo.

'Di lang yun, ipinakita ko rin yung mga interior designs ng bawat unit. Isinali ko na rin yung color palette na pwedeng pagpilian ng mga possible home owners. Shade of nature ang pinili ko kasi it never goes out of style. I mean, 'di siya naluluma. Kaya kahit luma na yung unit, mukha pa rin itong updated dahil nga sa colors na gagamitin. Aside from it, 'di rin ito prone sa dumi kaya hindi halata yung mga unwanted stains ng mga residents.
