A/N: Get ready for a seriously cheesy ending. x3 I couldn't help it, it just happened.

“Can’t you just tell me where we’re going?” I asked, giving Kyoya an annoyed look.

He ignored it, instead raising a single brow, not even bothering to look up from the laptop balanced on his lap. We were in a car! What the hell was he doing on there that was so important?

“Do you think if you ask a dozen times the answer will change?” he inquired. “I don’t believe it will. No, I’m not telling.”

“You’re being mean,” I muttered. “It wouldn’t hurt to tell.”

“It would spoil the surprise,” he retorted. “Just let me be nice.”

“I didn’t know you could do that. The club would be shocked.”

“I think you’re spending too much time with the twins, your sarcasm is growing too thick.”

I stuck my tongue out at him, not allowing the grin that wanted to appear on my face to show.

“Who’s fault is that? While you’re busy making these secret plans, they’ve been teaching me interesting things.”

“Like what?” he asked.

I considered my answer for a moment, and couldn’t help but grin this time.

“Naraku, sukebe, hentai, baka ka…”

Kyoya blanched as I listed off the words I’d learned from the twins. I noted with interest that he seemed a bit more tense than before.

“I’ll… have to have a talk with them.”

“They said to call you Sukebe-san,” I replied. “Said you’d find it interesting.”

Kyoya frowned, looking to me this time.

“You said they taught you the meaning of that word.”

“They might have.”

“You think it fits?” he demanded.

I laughed and spread my hands.

“Maybe.”

Frowning still, he looked back to his computer and muttered under his breath. Amused now instead of annoyed, I began paying attention to the buildings the car passed. I didn’t recognize any of them. It only made me more and more curious. The fact that he’d told me we were going somewhere today, told me to dress casual, and then refused to share anymore information once we’d gotten in the car made it even worse.

What exactly were we were for?

When the car finally came to a stop, Kyoya snapped his laptop shut and slid it into it’s sleeve. After telling me to wait, he sat it on the seat next to him and got out to open the door on my side. I looked around in confusion as he shut the door.

What was with all the secrecy? We’d only come to a normal park. In the distance I could make out a thicker area of trees surrounding an outdoor stage, but that was the only thing special about it. From what I could tell, several people were milling around the stage, was there going to be a concert?

I turned my attention to Kyoya, who was instructing our driver that he would call him when we were ready to leave. Then, without a word, he faced me and offered his hand. Still rather confused, I took it and allowed him to lead me down the sidewalk. It wasn’t until then that what was going on clicked.

He’d been working with his sister.

Recently, she’d been asking question after question. the one that applied to this situation the most would be the one requesting to know ‘my ideal date’.

An outdoor concert far from anywhere that people would recognize us. Afterwards walking around the park and talking, just enjoying each others company,, perhaps even getting ice cream from a nearby stand.

As if he could read my thoughts, Kyoya shot me a smirk.

“Figure it out yet?”

Dazed, I nodded, unable to tear my eyes away from him. We stopped walking and he turned to face me. He didn’t say anything right away, just reached up to fix a stray curl that had escaped from behind my ear. The worst thing about having short hair was that it was even curlier than before. My breath caught in my throat as he left his hand in place, even after finishing.

“Why?” I asked, clearing my throat. I wouldn’t let his being so close get to me, despite how obvious my reactions may be.

Kyoya seemed to consider the question for a moment.

“The engagement party is next week. You’ll be hounded constantly and then subjected to fake smile after fake smile as people you don’t know congratulate you. Let’s just call this a day to relax before all of that. It’ll be nice for me, too.”

I’d forgotten about that, but now that he mentioned it I could remember his father talking about that during dinner. Perhaps I’d just pushed it out of my mind in hopes that if I didn’t think about it that it wouldn't happen.

“So, you really were being nice,” I finally said, allowing a smile to appear. “What a surprise.”

He pursed his lips and dropped his hand.

“You really think that’s so strange?” he demanded.

I shook my head, amused.

“No, I don’t. You’ve always been nice, other people just don’t see it. I do, though, how could I not? I’m the person who knows you the best, afterall.”

He relaxed, that smirk coming back into place as he raised his other hand, the one still holding mine. He lightly kissed the back if it, his eyes never once leaving mine.

“That’s true, and so is the opposite,” he murmured. “I know you the best as well.”

Kyoya dropped my hand and we began walking again, but now there was a happy feeling burning in my chest. He hadn’t yet said what the answer was he’d talked of before, but I’d begun to realize just what it might be. I’d also realized that if I thought about it, my response would probably be the same.

As the twins would put it, I had fallen in love with the shadow king.

But you know what, I don’t  think it was as much falling as it was noticing. He’d always been there, whether it was just dancing with me when I was too shy to ask anyone else, or if it was to give the hard truth when I had almost starved myself in an attempt to see my parents again. Whatever the problem, he’d been the one to solve it, and he’d never complained.

If he was the shadow king, then did that make me his princess?

A/N: Oh, by the way, the word that she called him because of the twins encouragement is 'pervert'. ANYWAYS. I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS IS OVER. GOODNESS PEOPLE... I FINISHED A STORY. FINISHED IT.

Any last words?

P.S.  Not long from now I'll post an extra chapter that will be a preview of Ichiro's sequel: Love's Shadow. It will be a bit, however, before I actually start the story on here. I want to work on my other stories first. Feel free to check them out! I have three other Ouran stories beyond this one!
