Frostbite (VA) - Richelle Mead (2008)

Rating: 3/5

Genre: Fantasy

Frostbite is the second instalment of the Vampire Academy series.

I liked Frostbite but I have to say I found as I got further through the book not wantig to continue reading.

The blurb says Mason would die to be with Rose... Wow wouldn't want to give it away or anything! And besides the fact that Mead made that blindingly obvious it makes no sense. If you die then you're dead there is no other way about it, you're gone, kapoof, not there!

Can I just get this out there, okay? This story is so incredibly predictable. I knew everything that was going to happen before it happened. Rose ended up with Dmitri, Mason dies, none of the main characters really change and there is very little character development until probably near the end of the book where I think Rose really grows up a bit more.

In this book there was a love triangle but it was incredibly weak. The love triangle was between Mason, Rose and Dmitri. Naturally Dmitri won over Rose's heart and when I say won over her heart I mean Mason never even stood a chance. This is something I really hated about this book; Mason loved Rose and she treated him as a distraction from Dmitri: as something to take her mind off reality.

This book was boring. I expected to fly through it but, no. it took me over a week to finish this book. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? I heard that this series gets better as you go but I seriously doubt my ability to even want to go near this series ever again! It is terrible, Rose is a brat, Adrian is creepy, Dmitri needs to man up and do the right thing and Mason needs to wake up and smell the daisies.

In every book you want the main character to be someone you are impressed by. HA! Rose is certainly not impressive. She is stuck-up, rude, disrespectful and has no filter. I mean really, that girl needs to learn some manners.

Overall I really disliked this book and thought it was tedious.
