My Brothers Best Friend

Definitely perfection

Caleb started out my suspension by making us pancakes, we sat and talked while we ate.

"okay kira. you know this conversation is gonna come up at some point so let's start now."

I swallowed my food hard..I was dreading this conversation.

"what the hell happened to being careful kira? you just walked right up and dumped food...aaalllll over her," he was able to keep from laughing and I smiled.

He wiped it off fairly quick though "that doesn't mean your off the hook" my face fell.

"dangit." I paused and collected my thoughts.  "she kissed you." I let the venom come trough in my words, "she kissed you because she knew I was watching and knew that I could do anything about it because we're not..." I stopped and look down what even were we?

"We're not what?"

I looked up at him, how am I supposed to know? "what are we?"

he sighed and stood up taking the dishes to the sink, "I'm not sure, I know what I want to be," he smiled at me, "but I don't know how that will work."

I felt my heart drop into my stomach. my eyes stung. He caught my look of hurt and rushed over, holding my face between his big hands. "no no no no no! that's not what I meant I just.." he sighed exasperated,  "I don't know either. But whatever we are, we're going to spend the next few days together and have fun alright?"  he scooped me up bridal style and carried me to the couch while I giggled.

"pick a movie"

I put in Divergent and sat back down, loving the way he wrapped an arms around my waist and pulled me over so that I was sideways across his lap with my back to the arm rest.

we watched the movie but I could really concentrate, I was too busy thinking about his hand rubbing small circles on my back. I looked up at him, and studied his firm jawline and pink lips, I couldn't help it, I had to kiss him.

He straightened in suprise for a second before he kissed me back, sliding a hand behind my neck to hold me closer. it was a slow, passionate kiss. no rushing, just letting the feelings show though our lips.

I don't know how long we stayed like that, but I do know that the credits had been playing for a while before we finally stopped.

"wow." he said, resting his forehead against mine.

"yeahh.." I suddenly felt really tired and began to close my eyes, sensing this Caleb set an alarm on his phone and turned us so we were laying down spooning.

I'd never felt so safe and content, having his arm around my middle and nose at the crook of my neck, his breath tickled but was also really soothing.  I feel asleep in no time to the feeling of his chest rising and falling against my back.

The alarm shrieked sending me falling off the couch and Caleb laughing at me as he turned it off. I glared for a second before I couldn't help it anymore and laughed too.

He stood up and stretched after helping me up, "I better head out darlin"

my heart skipped a beat when he said darlin I don't know what it was but it made me melt.

" okay, thank you, for today"

a smile lit up his face as he grabbed me in a hug and spun me around as I laughed.  "anything for you." he gave me a quick but soft kiss and headed out.  "see yah later babe!" I shut the door a slid down it, unable to stop the undeniably girlie giggles and smile that came out.
