Chapter 16
Luke's POV:
"This is going to be a long night." Josh said, I just nodded in agreement. We were both walking around the open fields on the western side of Madeira, trying to find any sign or proof that our enemies were here, and by far we weren't to lucky but at least we were able to find a very well known sent.
I sighed, "Well we've seen everything, we've checked everything single house, shop and hell knows what, and we've found nothing but some of his men's sent."
"So what do you plan we do?" Josh asked yawning; I couldn't help but yawn to. Even though we're vampires we need to sleep at least 3 times a week, but unfortunately this whole week we didn't even have 2 minutes off to actually sleep, so it was taking a toll on us.
"Let's go meet the others, it's sunrise so I don't think they'll be stupid enough to attack her in broad day light." I said looking at the beautiful light blue, yellow sky, the sun was rising, soon Katie would wake up, and we'd have to tell her everything.
I couldn't help but sigh at that thought, I just hope she won't take what we tell her the wrong way.
Josh and I made our way back to where Katie's staying, we got there within 2 minutes using our vampire speed.
When we got to the field behind Katie grandparent's house, I could see that most of my men, Marco and the weretrigers were all sitting and waiting.
"Did you find anything?" Marco asked, I noticed he had a hint of hope in his tone, but far from that, he sounded like an Alpha of a pack.
I sighed; Josh and I glanced at each other, "Well the only thing we found was his and his men's sent, nothing else."
I heard everyone sigh and huff in frustration, "So what we going to do?" Cj, one of my men asked, I looked at him and shook my head.
"Now that's a good question... this is not for us! We hunt and kill those who have to be killed, we don't protect." I exclaimed sliding my hand throw my hair, I could hear most of my men grant in agreement.
"Well then we'll take care of her.... or do you think that weren't capable? Marco said glaring at me, daring me to agree with his last statement.
I held his gaze, "No Marco.... we know you and your men are capable of protecting her.... but the big question is.... Will you be able to protect her and yourselves?" I asked bitterly, looking at each of Marco's men.
Marco might think that protection Katie would be easy, well it's not, protecting Katie or anyone else for that matter is harder then he might think. Plus he has to protect her and try and keep himself and his men alive. And with the man that's after Katie, they wouldn't survive a minute with him.
Marco's men, all looked at each other, and nodding in agreement with my statement, I looked at Marco who was just glaring at me.
"Are you two done? Seriously you both sound like two fat women after the last pair of fat jeans. You both might not be strong or skillful enough to protect Katie, but as they say it's never to late to learn. So you both shut it and listen, because Katie's about to wake up in a few minutes and we have to tell her why we need her alive! Got it!" Lucas sounded really pissed off, and looked scary as hell.
Everyone just nodded, "Lucas, do your parents really think she's the one?" Marco asked.
Lucas sighed, "Marco, you know that it's not my parents that think she's the one, our visionary told us that she's the one, I saw it for myself. And that's it."
Everyone saw that he wasn't in the mood for arguing or talking at all, instead he looked at the widow on the far right side of the house, where Katie's room was situated. We all watched carefully, waiting for her to walk up, I know it sounds starker-ish but we had no choice.
