I woke up and my clock read, 7:00 am

Which made me relieved. I quickly texted Jennie,

"Up b4 you ;)"

"Whatever, thanks for waking me up though :)" she responded

"Today's gonna be interesting. Plz don't become boy crazy :/" I texted

"Too late :/ I swear if my rank goes down I'm ripping a boys head off !"  She said

"Ugh same here :( see u @ school," I said

"See u" she responded

I then woke my brother up to get ready and told him I was able to walk him all the way to school today.

When I got to school, it was a train wreck. There were so many students! Boys and girls who looked completely lost.

There was a big sign, that said,
~ All students will have an hour before classes to receive new schedules depending on whether your rank has changed. Please do this expeditiously and Welcome West Boys Academy Students we're glad to have you join us :) ~

I looked over to my right to see a big crowd standing in front of the sign telling everyone's rank. Instead of going up, I sat down at a table nearby, extremely nervous. Jennie sat in front of me,

"My rank went down," she said sadly

"No! Jennie, I'm so sorry ! Where are you at now?" I asked worriedly

"Rank 5. I don't mind though. Exams are in a few weeks I have time to study and bring it up. Why do you seem so surprised didn't you see the ranks ?" She asked

I shook my head, " I'm too nervous, can you tell me mine ?" I asked

"Nope, it's better if you see yourself," she said as she pulled my arm guiding me to the board.

I nervously went through the crowd and looked at the number one ranking and... I was there! I was still there! A smile escaped from my face until I noticed another name next to mine. I instantly looked at Jennie,

"What's this ?" I said as I pointed to the person's name

"Someone tied with you," she said amused by my situation

I wasn't angry just curious of who it. The name read, Cha Eunwoo, and I had no idea who that was until my thoughts were interrupted by a boy with his finger on my name,

"Who is this?!" The boy asked his friend standing only a few inches away from Jennie.

"I think I know who," he said as he looked at me making the boy look at me too.

We stared at each other for a while until I broke the silence,
" is this you?" I asked the boy pointing to his name next to mine

"Yes, and is this you?" He said pointing at my name as well.

"Yes..." I said

We awkwardly stared until Jennie grabbed my arm,

"Looks like we have to go now," she said dragging me but I was stopped

The boy, Cha Eunwoo grabbed my arm,

"Wait, as number ones don't you think we should introduce ourselves?" He asked confidently

"Umm, y-yeah. You first" I said shyly

"Hi, my name is Cha Eunwoo and I'm a third year at this school," he said confidently

"Okay ... hi, Cha Eun woo, I'm Y/N and I'm also a third year.... oh yeah! This is my friend Jennie." I nervously said

He smiled and said " so Y/N how long have you been ranked number one in this school," he asked

"Umm ever since my first year," I said looking down

He looked at his friend in shock and then back at me, " No one has taken your spot since ?"

"Nope," I said slightly smiling at Jennie who looked like a proud mom.

"Well you've had a good three years as the highest rank too bad it has to come to an end," he said still smiling at me but I was not

"Excuse me ?" I asked shocked at what he just said

"Is miss number two having hearing problems already ?" He looked at his friend and laughed and then back at me, " it's ok number two isn't so bad" he said as he and his friend bumped Jennie and I's shoulder as they walked past us leaving me speechless.

Jennie broke the silence,

"Want me to go cut their heads off ?" She said already walking in their direction

I quickly grabbed her arm and looked at ranks 1-5 on the board. I didn't notice before but the boys of West Academy totally dominated, leaving me and Jennie the only girls in the top 5 rank. Jennie noticed too,

"Wow, I'm actually speechless," she said

We just looked at each other and began to walk down the hallway. still holding her arm and leaning on her shoulder, moping,

"Why me?" I asked not expecting an answer. Jennie just patted my head as we continued down the hall.

I had never been this worried about my rank but since this Eunwoo was so competitive and arrogant it made me a bit intimidated. I had always thought my rank going down wouldn't be such a bad thing but now I'm wondering how I'd feel if it actually did since there's a close chance it could possibly go down.

We stopped in front of a sign saying
Ranks 1-25 will be in the same class.
Homeroom teacher: Mr. A
Room: 3-205

We entered the class and there he was. Eunwoo was in my seat, I was so angry. That had been my seat since the first year. I turned my head to Mr. A who had put his hands up in his defense. I calmly walked to the seat next to the seat that was now his and sat down.

Suddenly I felt a paper ball hit my head. And looked beside me to see Eunwoo laughing.

"What was that for?!" I said angrily to him

"Sorry, there was no other way to get your attention." He said still laughing

"You could've tapped me .. or said my name!" I said annoyed

"Yeah but I consider myself a really creative person. And sorry about your seat, since you'll be rank 2 I think it's best if I sit here now" he said with an arrogant smile and instantly started talking to his friend on the other side of him

I was furious, why is this guy so arrogant and so sure that I'll be ranked 2. He's wrong and I'll show him.

~ I'm gonna study until my brain hurts ~
I thought to myself

For now, I won't let him see that his arrogant comments anger me. I'll try my best.
