The next two days go by smoothly. I mostly spend time with Cassy and Odeo since we thought the other two happy couples should have time alone after not seeing each other for quite a while.

We swim, ride horses, play games, watch movies, and talk and walk in the gardens. We also learn that the mansion, gardens, grass field that seems to stretch for who knows how long, is all Miguel's. His parents are rich enough to provide him and his brother with their own land and mansions while their parents rest and retire in a peaceful little beach house near the coast.

It's noon time after those two peaceful days and the doctors have arrived. Cal had to take some security measures before bringing them here, in case Harold or any other very untrustworthy person may track them.

We meet the doctors in the guest house, about a football field east away from the mansion. Trees form a border between the two buildings and so with Cal coming from the east of the guest house, the doctors wouldn't really see the mansion. And yes, that's how big Miguel's land is.

Doctor Fernand and Herce sit on a couch, looking around the room, their hands fidgeting.

Cal leans against a wall and watches them. When he sees us come in, he looks up with a smile.

"Well, about time you lot got here. It's not that far you know." He says.

We share smiles and we girls give Cal a hug.

"Business time." Miguel says.

Gabby and Miguel sit across from the doctors. Cassy, Odeo and I stand in different corners of the room.

Valerie and Carlos stay in the mansion, keeping eyes on us from inside and the mansion in case.

"What do you know about Serene's case?" Miguel asks, his accent quite clear.

Doctor Herce shrugs. "I'm just the assistant doctor so I don't know as much as him." Doctor Fernand nudges Doctor Herce with his foot.

Doctor Herce shakes him off. "All I know is that Serene was an incredible agent. She did missions excellently and with precision. She rarely missed or made mistakes. Come to think of it, I think she never did make any. Anyway, there was a plot to use her as a piece. For what, I don't know. But the process involved clearing her mind of things that could hinder her cooperation. So we were tasked to take care of that."

Miguel glances at Doctor Fernand who's staring out the window. "And that meant removing her memories."

Doctor Herce nods.

"And what about you, Doctor Fernand? What can you add to this?" Miguel asks slowly.

Doctor Fernand sighs. "Boy, I cannot reveal everything I know. It would mean I am no man of my word. I also cannot put my wife in more danger than she is already in."

Miguel nods slowly and Gabby shifts in her seat.

"So, you will not tell us anything else?" Miguel prods.

"I will tell you that you should just give Serene back. It would solve many problems." He sighs.

"Like what?" Doctor Herce asks quietly, though everyone can hear since the room's already quiet.

Doctor Fernand shoots him an annoyed look and Doctor Herce looks away.

"First, there's my problem with my wife. She got dragged into this. Second, our company's about to start a war with the largest company and powerhouse in the world. Third, I'm tired and stressed and want to go home. I want to get my pay and get off the grid. She-" He gives me a pointed look. "Is keeping that from me."
