Come Home

99 18 10

I sit here waiting for you
I'm on my fifth cup of coffee
and tenth cigarette.

I watch the clock
It's ticking getting louder
hurting my thoughts
all I can think about is you.

Your not home
what did I do or say
to make you go away
didn't I always love you
give you my heart
tell you things
I never told another.

It seems your not coming home
you ran away
like a coward
you couldn't even tell me
you were leaving.

So what do I do now
sit here crying
or just shrug it off
no I will just sit here
because you have my heart
I need you to bring it back.

I'll just wait here
till you change your mind
and come home
I'll leave the door on the latch
so you and your heart can come in
I won't even ask
where you've been
I don't care
I just want you home.
