What is the Point of Love

Love can make grown men cry,
love can start wars,
we all need love
need to feel love
need to give love.

Love can be greedy,
love can leave you feeling needy,
sweaty palms, dry throat, no appetite,
these are all signs of being in love,
so I have been told.

The feeling of being in love,
cannot be bottled,
cannot be branded,
It is something we all crave,
but few experience real love.

If you find love,
hold on to it,
don't let it go,
once real true love is lost,
It is hard to replace,
you will go through life,
trying on cheap copies,
it never fills that hole,
that was left,
when love left town.

True love is when,
you feel you can't breathe without him,
you miss him,
when he leaves your side.

True love is when you don't mind,
his bad habits,
his stupid jokes,
and his awful taste in music.

So what is the point of love,
when love can break you,
or make you,
love can be cruel, it can be kind,
but we all need to be loved,
and we all need to give love.
