Thursday Afternoon

He waited around the corner
same time every day
'one o' clock
when the sun was high.

She took her lunch break every afternoon
at the same time
ordered the same lunch everyday
tuna salad sandwich on brown.

Today something was going to be different
the Gods had a different game to play
on this particular afternoon
the man that nobody noticed
was going to get his girl.

He had played this game in his head
so many times, he could smell her scent
the feel of her body
anticipation coursed through his veins.

On this Thursday afternoon
he was finally going to get his prey.
