Chapter 14: Then So Be It

Shadé

I stepped out of the steam of Darrell's heated bathroom with a towel securely wrapped around my body and another towel wrapped around my freshly washed hair. Darrell was lying down on his bed, which had a new set of bed sheets covering them. They were black and white, of course.

I pulled my spare clothes out of his dresser and threw them onto his bed: black tights, a blue, oversized superman t-shirt, and a black bra and underwear.

I sat on Darrell's bed and strapped on the bra, following it with the t-shirt.

"Why are you so damn sexy," I heard Darrell question from where he was lying down on the bed.

I stood up and turned around to look at him. "I don't know. Working out, maybe," I said with a smile as I tugged on my underwear.

"Turn around for a second," he said, moving closer to me.

I slowly turned around, looking over my shoulder at what he was doing.

"Now this, is an ass," he joked as he kissed each cheek tenderly.

I laughed heartily. "Darrell, stop it," I pleaded weakly as he briefly drummed his fingers on my ass.

"You should get into urban modeling. You definitely have the body for it," he commented, before smacking my ass and then hurrying back to his previous position.

"Darrell," I yelped loudly at the stinging pain on my left cheek. "That shit actually hurts!"

He laughed heavily at my outburst.

When I was done pulling on my tights, I caught Darrell staring at me solemnly, like he was thinking about something.

"What's wrong," I asked worriedly as I pulled myself onto his lap.

"The daycare called while you were in the shower," he revealed, locking my eyes with his own.

"What!? What's wrong? Did something happen to the babies" I asked, my tone even more concern. The daycare never calls me, unless it was an emergency...or when they can't get Caine to stop crying.

"Calm down, baby. It isn't anything serious," he said as his hands soothingly ran up and down my arms.

"Darrell, just say it, dammit," I said impatiently. I didn't like that he was acting like he didn't want to tell me why they called!

"Well, apparently, the Prince is there," he finally admitted.

I hopped off his lapped, stepping away from him. Is he serious? Vincent is at the daycare. Vincent is at the daycare where my children are at. That is serious! How the fuck did he even find out that they were there? How!?

"I have to go," I said, beginning to panic.

"Why," he asked, pulling himself up.

"What do you mean why? Those are my babies," I said incredulously.

"They're his babies too. Shadé, I don't mind him being around his kids, but him being around you bothers me a lot," he admitted.

"Darrell, we're having this conversation later. I need to go to the daycare," I hastily said, grabbing my phone and purse. My damp hair was still slightly dripping water from my roots as it curled into its natural pattern. I didn't have anytime to pick it out because if the severity of the situation.
