"How long you'll be gone?" I ask him scared it'll take tuh long.
"A month, maybe 2."
Ah turned mah face away. He grabbed mah chin an turned it his way.
"I will be back before you know it." he reassure me wid uh kiss on mah forehead.
Ah could hear his brothuh pull up wid his carriage an he rushed out de door, but came back tuh give me uh kiss. Ah hated sayin goodbye tuh him, an deep down inside me ah hoped tuh de good God dat he wouldn't fool round wid anothuh woman.
