Chapter VII: The Secrets Revealed

I woke up and suddenly sat up and as I did I bumped heads with someone or something and I looked into the eyes of my cousin Lark, as the room stopped spinning I noticed that Nick was sitting in a chair in the corner looking rather gloomy or more like sick. He wasn't even looking at me and just as I was about to say something Lark intervened and began to ask me pointless questions that weren't worth the answer. "Tell me Alissa are you okay...are you hurt?" I just stared at him my head was blank, I couldn't really think of anything other than the fact that Nick wasn't even looking at me...and then I remembered what had happened. I quickly looked at Lark he knew exactly what I was thinking because he grabbed my arm and made me see what had happened afterwards, I then saw as my eyes glowed a different color. I then began to attack Solomon's goons and then I ripped them apart leaving a splatter of blood on the ally walls and I left the two lifeless bodies in a pool of blood, and just as I was about to go for Solomon. Lark jumped out and I grabbed onto him and I was about to snap his neck when I came to my senses, and then I passed out but what happened afterwards was what really shocked me the most. Since Nick didn't run away he quickly came to my aid, and just as he was going to pick me up Lark slapped his hands away, "don't touch her just yet," Nick looked at him shocked and questioning. "Why?...she's sprawled on the floor she needs medical attention right away," then Nick started to look for his cell in his coat pocket and once he found it he started dialing 911, only that Lark quickly grabbed the phone and crushed it with one hand like it was paper. "You should understand by now what we are...she doesn't need a doctor she needs to rest and get a transfusion before she drinks you dry..." Nick grunted but began to get what Lark was trying to tell him getting the police involved would be troublesome, and since the death of Mr. Lawrence the police has been quite active. I then saw as Lark and Nick began to help each other out by taking me into the safety of the club and into Lark's office, and then as Lark went to get the AV needle from the storage room and two bottles of blood wine he got everything ready for the transfusion. Meanwhile Nick was holding me in his arms staring at my unconscious face, and as I saw what felt like a dream it looked like he wanted to cry or break apart from this reality. Then once Lark finished setting everything he took me away from Nick's arms and Nick looked puzzled as Lark gently laid me down on his bed, and moved several strands of hair away from my face. And then stuck the butterfly IV needle into my vein while Nick sat in the chair in the corner looking at me, and then looking at Lark. "What exactly is your relationship to my cousin...Nick was it?" I could tell by Lark's tone that even Nick's name made him question his relationship to me, but it wasn't fair I would always see Lark as my little cousin. "Its none of your business as I recall your just her cousin," with that Lark flashed a smile and I could tell by his eyes that it was due to raw fury that was burning him with jealousy. "That is true but I'm also all that she has in this world I will be the only one to understand her in the end...she only has me to depend on...meanwhile you will just continue your miserable human existence...this isn't a place for a weak human its not a game either." Nick looked really desperate to say something that will make him stay on equal ground with Lark but it was impossible, Lark was right Nick will forget this and if he can't he will try any way he can. Then that was that, I opened my eyes and well Nick was already in a comatose state and he would rather die than say something right there and then, it would be suicidal to him and all of his pride. But also he was thinking of something else, and as I sat up my head began to hurt almost like I had fallen from a skyscraper, and I noticed that I still had the AV needle still in my vein and a half filled O negative blood bag. I was about to remove it when Lark started to tell me to stay still or I will cause myself more harm than good, and well I didn't want to cause Nick any more pain so I walked into the bathroom with the whole stand that was holding the blood bag and it took me a while to stop limping as I walked towards the bathroom. But halfway I noticed that the room was spinning and I collapsed in the hall, I then saw as feet were rushing towards me it was Nick and Lark I looked at Nick and I felt as I was smiling at him. I think I managed to say, "finally you are looking at me...I'm sorry," and then I passed out again, but I was conscience enough to hear what they were talking about this time. I knew that Nick had picked me up and then I heard as Lark came and began to make Nick give me up so that he could carry me, "give me my cousin I will lay her back down on the bed," the room was getting so tensed. "Your not strong enough to stand by her side...to whatever sleeps inside of her is slowly wanting to take control of her, and if you are the closest at that time she will definitely kill you without realizing it herself...that same thing killed her parents only that something might have gone wrong." I knew that was Lark talking although I didn't know what he was talking about...was there something deep inside of me that would be capable of such a thing. It even killed my parents or more like I killed them and I didn't know it, I felt sick and horrible since all along I had thought that there was something inside of me. "What are you talking about? Alissa would never hurt anyone she cares about," I could feel as the cool silk touched my legs and back, and then Lark or Nick started to cover me with the thin silk blankets. It was very dumb of them to have the balcony doors also open and either Lark's maid or Lark himself dressed me in a thin silk nightgown, but overall it was cold did they really think I was that hot. Either way the conversation kept on being depressing and sad and I knew that Lark was connected with his dead twin sister in a way, but also to think that maybe he saw that my sister was okay. I would be happy that I wasn't alone and then I suddenly felt a pain surge thru me, and that's when Lark and Nick started to gather around I really didn't know what was happening but I kept hearing a voice in my mind. "If you don't submit to my demands all of the people you care about will die this is the last time I will remind you of the pain Alissa...the pain your family caused me when they killed me." The voice was echoing in my thoughts and for some reason I knew that voice but why couldn't I remember anything...my parents could never hurt anyone much less that voice of that women who sounded as though it was hurt and lonely. I then jolted upwards and almost hit Lark and Nick as they were patiently waiting for me to wake up, "what happened it looked like you were having a seizure or something?" I looked at Nick but for some reason I couldn't recall thrashing around, I could only remember the voice in my head. That's when I felt Lark poking inside my head and despite trying to shut the door he managed to slip in, and for a couple of minutes while being inside my head he stood quiet. I knew he had found what he had been looking for and that's when he abruptly pulled out and his eyes looked frighteningly scared, and began to pace back and forth in the room. I suddenly became impatient, "Lark tell me what you saw?" he didn't look at me it seemed like he did but he was looking past me to a portrait hanging on the wall of my family, and he walked closer to it. "You weren't born with that thing inside of you in truth its not a thing its a person that's inside of you in the form of a spirit...and I know who and why, it maybe doing this, I had known since I was a little...I had heard your father talking to your mother about punishing an aunt of ours called Larissa." It instantly clicked and I began to remember that one day I had been forced to go into the forbidden tower, and I saw a pretty lady sitting in a dark cold cell wearing rags and covered in dirt and mud she looked so scared. I looked at Lark in amazement, "you mean...that woman in the forbidden tower...she...she was our aunt," I was surprised and scared at the same time since I couldn't believe that my parents could do such a thing. "Yes...she's your father and mothers younger sister Larissa she was also the third person to have the honor to hold you as a new born baby," I was beyond shocked my parents never mentioned I had another aunt other than Lark's parents and to think that although my mother and father were brother and sister I hadn't know they had another sister. "But why did they do that to Larissa if they are related by blood...that goes against our family code...this sounds so wrong," Lark just looked at me while Nick just tried to hide his face of confusion. "The code came after that when your parents decided in a meeting that; 'Blood is Thicker than Water, but once its shed water can wash it away,' I didn't know what that meant until I looked at the portraits and read a couple of the family ancestry in the records of the family...that I found the truth." Lark looked away and it made me wonder was the things that he was going to tell me that bad or will I become sick from hearing something that was actually the truth in our family...was it all just a lie. "Against our aunt Larissa...it was an injustice...and your father didn't oppose to her execution...you see your father was married to Larissa first but for some reason she couldn't give birth or so they say." I began to think nothing made sense, "but what about my sister she's older than me...if my father was with my aunt first than shouldn't they have had a child." He looked into my eyes and I could make out my horrible reflection in his clear grey eyes, "the weird thing is that no one knows whether you are aunt Larissa's daughter or the mother you have always known." I looked straight at him, "you have to be kidding me...how can you say that...I know my own mother's face and I look like my mother as well," Lark just stood there starring at me, "I understand you maybe in denial but..." I was starting to get fed up with what was happening, "I don't understand anymore what I had known all along could have been a lie...its got to be a lie I look like my mother," Lark's eyes became dark, "and at the same time aunt Larissa and you mother looked like twins."  I didn't understand, I didn't know what was right and what was wrong in this world anymore, was my whole life a lie, "how can that be that no one knew anything?" He looked out at the open balcony doors as a nice breeze came thru and then he turned and looked back, it almost felt as though he were asking permission from someone or begging for forgiveness for breaking a promise. "Both your mother and Larissa had gone into hiding for a couple of years due to a crazy women that was after your father but...while in hiding your father would go visit them although no one knew where it was..." Lark paused and looked at me as if trying to see if I was paying attention and then he continued, "well when that women was dealt with and left your family alone your mother came back and so did Larissa they were each holding a beautiful girl although the one aunt Larissa was holding was a year older." He then looked out the window thinking and then looked at the portrait it was probably hard for him to remember most of the things that he had heard, and just as he was going to give up I had a painful shock wave rattle my brain.
