Chapter XVII: Snow Storm

       I looked at my father as he began the story I never knew, "this is the first time I talk to someone besides Larissa about what happened in the past." I nodded I needed to know what it was that my father hid from me it was important, "you know there was a time in which I did love your mother and I thought she loved me, but to my surprise she betrayed any spark of love I had for her, and in the end she ended our love." I watched as my father balled his fist and dug his nail deep penetrating his skin, and blood began to flow. He hadn't noticed until he felt the blood trickle down staining his elegant suit, and for some reason that same scent made me remember things from my childhood. Things that had been erased or traumatized me, "you told me when I was little the reason you were going to abandon me was because of mom." He looked surprised and looked down to his hands that were already healing, "I didn't think you would remember considering you were only 5 at that time, and using my vampire abilities to make you forget what you saw or what you heard." I felt like punching him it would be fair considering, I looked older than my own father who looked like my little brother instead. "But why?" he smiled, "because you would be safer with your mother than with me, it was convienient for me that you didn't hate your mother." I looked at my hands and wondered who I really was, "you seem confused...its a lot to take in I know my son, but know that it was for the best. You are my son and nothing will ever change that not even Alissa's filthy blood will change that!" I looked at my father as he said that and in his eyes I noticed that deep hate he harbored for Alissa it wasn't normal. "Why is it that you hate Alissa?" he looked deep into my eyes, "you would hate her too if you knew of all the pain that girl has caused our entire family." I didn't follow what he was talking about, "because of that girl Larissa was imprisoned in Ice and Snow..." I wondered what that had anything to do with Alissa, "its better if I show you what that girl has done." He stood up and walked towards the exit, and when he opened the door I saw my sister Alison there and it seemed like she had been eavesdropping in on our conversation. "Alison what do you think you are doing?" father sounded mad, "nothing just guarding the door..." father didn't buy it and smiled a cold smile, "it seems a punishment is needed for having such a wondering ear my dear daughter." Alison's eyes became wide with fear, and surprise as father motioned for two guards to apprehend her and take her, "take her to the tower and don't give in to her demands this time! If you do not obey you two will be going to the pits with the lesser." They seemed like they got the message loud and clear and Alison was mad, "please father anything but the tower...I'm so sorry!" but it was too late father didn't listen to her instead he walked down the opposite hallway. And all the while Alison screamed at father for not taking pity, "why did you do that to Alison?" he stopped and placed a hand on my shoulder, "there are times when a King must never look weak that goes for being hard on everyone including ones own children." I nodded, "is that why you were so hard on Tristan?" he didn't look at me he seemed to be looking right past me, "I'm harder on him because he isn't blood of my own blood...you are my one and only son Nick." I was suddenly confused, "but didn't you say he was my brother?" we continued walking until we got to two large doors, and I had thought we were back to the throne room but that wasn't the case. As soon as he opened the door a blast of cold wind ran past me almost pushing me back and that's when all my other questions had been answered, "welcome to Larissa's prison." I walked inside and it was a snow palace, and in the middle was a large crystal made of ice and there was a blue light inside that seemed to glow. "Tristan's real blood father was Larissa's own brother, I'll tell you the same story she told at one point...I still haven't forgiven her...for that betrayal."

Larissa's Love story:

       During the Reign of the 4 Snow and Ice Queen's the Head of the Family or the Center of the previous Queen's was Roselia the Ice Queen she was a Queen among Queen's most beloved by all, but unbeknownst to them all. They had a brother who when they were born they had to hide him away, it seemed like the only one with a clear link to him was Larissa but it was only because Larissa was his twin sister. And they had a bond much greater than that of life, it wasn't until later that Roselia revealed the truth of why they hid the Snow Prince in that prison but it seemed like Roselia had knowledge of him being there. Even before their mother Neo Queen Arcelia had been frozen in time like a death like slumber by her own daughter's, it seemed like Roselia had always know of the Snow Prince. But like Larissa had said Roselia was Queen Arcelia's pride and joy, and she was also her own undoing. Once Roselia freed her own brother he met with Larissa and it seemed like they had fallen in love, but Roselia seeing those things unfold before her led her to take extreme actions and they had to rip them apart. Roselia sent the Snow Prince to another land without letting Larissa know, and she made it seemed like he no longer loved her it was because of that famous letter that Larissa lost all sanity. Years later she met a man who was seeking to conquer a new land a land that would be frozen in time, his name was Prince Ferdinand and with his older brother Prince Skylark they were the two son's of a Grand King who was trying to beat time by freezing his own life time so that he would be an Immortal King. But before the war started he was killed by his own son to take the throne, his ambition led him to take the Crown from his own brother who was to succeed like his father had wrote in his final will. King Ferdinand conquered the Snow and Ice lands thanks to his own brother who was even more powerful than the Queen's themselves, and to prevent any more destruction Queen Roselia decided to make a peace treaty. But when they finally met King Ferdinand fell in love with her and decided that the peace treaty between their Kingdoms could not be upheld by a mere piece of paper, and proposed marriage on the spot. Queen Roselia had no other choice, much less did Prince Sky have a choice in giving up his right to rule. Over time Queen Roselia fell in love with Ferdinand but he also caught the eye of Larissa who once again had fallen in love with someone that was forbidden to love. That didn't stop Larissa she tried what ever method to cause her sister any pain a fraction of what she had felt all those years ago when they took away her own love, it was then that the plan had been hatched by her. She convinced Roselia that there was a prophecy she had heard from her mother once about complete extinction of their whole lineage, and she managed to control her from that fear alone. But behind Roselia's back she was amassing a large amount of power, and that's when the 3 other Ice Queen's and Snow Queen's came into the plan along with Roselia and Larissa. They decided to create a being that would be able to surpass them all, and that's the kind of power Larissa had been waiting for a vessel that could have so much more power so she could over throw Roselia as the Head Queen. But her plan didn't go as planned considering how the vessel they had created was already growing from within Roselia's belly, it was then that she realized she was expecting a child of Ferdinand. This destroyed Larissa's plan but before she lost hope she found another way to crush Roselia and take Ferdinand from her. Roselia didn't want Ferdinand to find out he was to be a father anytime soon considering he was stressed about the lands boarders becoming smaller. But that didn't stop Larissa who slipped in a note to King Ferdinand one day during a ball to celebrate the Snow and Ice Queen's long lineage, Larissa dragged him out to the balcony without telling Roselia. There Larissa told him to visit the farthest village in the forest of Ice and that there he would see something very interesting, and if he believed in what he saw that he would have to visit the Witch Cassidy in Levethain. Only that it was all a lie it was part of her plan to finally get her revenge on her sisters for choosing to follow Roselia over her, and with Larissa being able to manipulate Ferdinand all the pieces fell into place. Including the final piece the revival of their mother Neo Queen Arcelia who decided to do away with all of them, but Larissa knew she was going to be spared and even received a gift from her mother. At that time she realized she had made a mistake in placing her faith in Roselia, but she also made a mistake in placing any faith at all in Larissa who betrayed her and executed her to take her powers. Which she hadn't known came with a powerful curse that couldn't be undone...that was the price Larissa paid for the power she stole, it was only by luck that Prince Skylark survived and promised Queen Roselia the safety of her daughter. Years passed and then centuries and once again Larissa was reborn into a new immortal family after freezing her original body. This time she also met with the girl who took away her happiness and Lieseria was named Alissa and was beloved by all but not by her aunt Larissa who would destroy her.

Back to the Present:

     I looked at my father that story made no sense, "but how do you know that Tristan isn't your son! You just told me this dumb story and not once does it mention her having a child during her frosty reign." I was really upset I wasn't sure if father did it on purpose to deny Tristan any rights to the throne like Ferdinand did to Skylark, but that wasn't fair. "You see I think it was during the period that she disappeared that we know nothing of where she was or with who that she might have had Tristan inside of her original body only to freeze her time and awaken him at a certain time." I then realized, "are you saying Tristan was created so that he could destroy Alissa?" he looked at the ice crystal in front of us and nodded, "I figured that had been the plan when she told me her story and skip the part of what she did during that time that she was gone, I didn't believe she would be sleeping for more that 5 thousand years." Now everything clicked of why she wanted Tristan here...if Tristan was here Alissa would follow after all they shared the same blood now, "that's impossible..." my father looked sad almost like a zombie, "Larissa will always be 5 steps ahead no one can win against her, lets go your ceremony will start soon..." when he said that he headed towards the exit, and as I took a step forward something began to happen to me. I felt sick and began to cough up blood it was too much I felt my insides turning on one another like animals, "Nick! Listen to me don't fight it! it hurts twice as much...just let it go and you will be fine, your transition is a lot faster than what I anticipated." And with that I stopped and slowly let it over come my body like a disease the darkness washing away my colors, and then I felt as ice froze all my veins and I heard my father say he was sorry. Although I didn't get why he said that this is what he wanted from me...to be a monster, and I knew this would only be the beginning the only thing that could keep me warm is the memory of Alissa in my thoughts. But also that made my blood run cold sensing that danger was closer to her than what I thought with Tristan being bound to her by blood, it was funny I was changing into something I didn't know and yet I wasn't so afraid.
