COMEBACK 1: Monique and Ryan (Completed)

Part 11

On the next day, I got a text from someone. Unregistered yung number niya sa contact list ko kaya hindi ko na muna pinansin the whole day dahil busy ako sa work. Naisipan kong tignan ang cellphone ko nung gabi na dahil may nagtext ulit. Dun ko lang namalayan na madami palang missed calls from my friends. So what's the matter? Una kong tinignan yung kay Anne.

From Anne:

8:56 PM

Nikky, where are you? Please answer your phone, this is urgent.

Urgent? So I call her back.

"Anne, sorry ngayon ko lang nakita yung message mo. Bakit pala?" Tanong ko.

"I don't know how to say this to you, pero wag kang mabibigla ha." Sabi niya at pansin ko ang labis niyang pagka- tamlay.

"Wait is this serious? Wag mo ko pakabahin kung prank lang yan ha. I'm tired today."

"I'm serious Monique." She called me Monique, so I assume she's really serious.

"So what is it?"

"Ryan is at La Viendé Medical Hospital."

After hearing that, I felt like my heart skipped a beat. I'm still worried as ever.

"What happened to him?" I wish walang nangyaring malala.

"Suicide attempt." Malungkot niyang sabi.

Ilang sigundo bago nag-sink in sa utak ko.

"I'm coming." Maigsi kong tugon dahil gustong gusto ko na makita siya at malaman yung dahilan kung bakit. He was here yesterday. Kaya bakit biglaan naman niya maiisip yun. I'm sure there's a deep reason behind.

"Mag- ingat ka. Drive safely. Third floor, left wing Room 304."

"Thanks."

Napaupo ako sandali. I want to calm myself. Hawak ko padin yung cellphone ko ng may maalala ako. Someone texted me earlier. Yung unregistered number. I had a feeling that it was him but I ignored.

Hinanap ko yung nagtext na yun at binuksan yung message.

Out of curiosity, I followed him. I opened my messenger and I saw a message from his account.

He sent me a voicemail.

"You are the last person I'm going to send a message Monique, maybe because you're the most special among them. It's still you Nikky, you've never been replaced by anyone even Alexa. I don't know what happened to me for the past four months but realization hits me when you and Jayvee confronted me. Sorry for being a jerk, sorry for being so rude and careless, sorry for choosing courting Alexa than to precious our time together, sorry for avoiding and make fun of you. Sorry for everything I did that makes you feel bad. Sorry for all these sorrys' I have to tell you. And I am thankful Nikky, because God gave me a friend like you even if I don't deserve it anymore. If you're not just a friend so it be. Thank you for your undying care for me and a love that surrounds me everytime I feel weak and low. Thank you for who you are. But maybe I already lose you and this is the time I feel sorry for myself. If only I can turn back time, I will change our future. I don't want to see both of us away from each other and talking like strangers. I want us to be like the sweetest couple we could ever imagine. That is all I want which is already impossible to happen. Monique I have only one last request. Always take care of yourself and be happy as if everyday would be the last day. I love you more than a friend and I hope to see you again."
