Nick had pretty much expected it pero sa kabila niyon, napakahirap pa ring i-proseso ng narinig niya. This old man wanted him out of Dreena's life!Godammit!

His feelings for Dreena had reached the point of no return.

He cannot go back now.

He loves her too much to even think that he'd leave her. Hell would have to freeze over!

"No." Matigas na sabi niya. "I won't do it."

Nag-angat ng kilay ang nakatatandang Sinclair. "You won't?" He asked, perplexed by his answer. Bahagyang naningkit ang mga mata nito."Bakit?"

"Because I love your grand daughter." He answered simply.

He would have liked to tell that to Dreena himself.

The old man just laughed. "Ridiculous! Love? I've been around my grand children since they were little rascals and let me tell you, you are just one of the many men who found the guts to confess his love for my grand daughter and you know what? They all tell me the same thing but in reality, they all want the same thing.."

"You do know how much money my Alexandreena has on her coffers, don't you?" "This ring alone is worth a king's ransom. Now let me ask you, Mr. DeLevigne," Lumipat sa kanya ang tingin nito. "How much is your worth?"

He clenched his jaw. To say he's insulted is an understatement. Ikinuyom niya ang mga palad hoping to god it would help him contain his anger!

"Everything has a price."

So this is how things work for them eh? These shitty aristocrats think they could buy anything with their goddamned money! They think money is everything!

God.. how infuriating!

Igting ang mga bagang na tumayo siya. He walked towards his desk. He clicked his tongue.

"Tsk.. this is why I never like flashy things.. they are utterly infuriating.."

If I were to accept your offer, I would be able to buy anything I want.. go to expensive places I want to be.. I would also be able to buy someone else's principle and do anything I please with it. Yeah, that would be hell of a fun, isn't it?"

His smirk was gone in an instant.

"But that is something only a self-centered blue blood would do. And I thank the heavens I happened to be a simple human being who happens to hate flashy things."

Kinuha niya ang singsing at saka siniyasat iyon.

"This thing is worth a king's ransom, you say? Too bad my feelings for your grand daughter is something that cannot be bought.."
