Chapter forty seven

"Morning, sweet thing.. Did you had a good sleep?"

"Let me go!"

Elle chuckled, "You must be forgetting, someone in your station is way too beneath me to command me."

"You arrogant--

"I do not really get how Elijah fell in love with this ill mannered peasant.." Elle cut her off then sighed. "Such an embarassment and a shame you even considered this traitor a family Dee.." Lumingon si Elle sa akin, a sly smirk was on her face.

She snapped her unbelieving eyes at her. The ringing in her ears is making her hard to stand on her own two feet.

"Monster!" The woman she knew very well shrieked. Pinipilit nitong makawala sa kadenang nakakabit sa mga kamay nito but to no avail.

Elle just smirked at her petty attempts.

"Go on.. you can try escaping those shackles but I must warn you, it will be quite tedious." Hinimas ni Elle ang kadenang nakakabit dito.

"Get these off me!"

She watched her struggle. Her unbelieving eyes kept on watching as the woman in front of her gazed at her with pure loathing.

Her legs became wobbly. She was so used to her being gentle that she couldn't stand the look of hate in her eyes.

Wala siyang ibang nagawa kundi ang ianas na lamang ang pangalan ng babaeng nasa harap niya ngayon. Tears of betrayal and sadness instantly filled her vision.

"Lily... why...?"

Binigyan ako nito ng nanunuyang tingin.

"Ang galing mo din eh ano? Don't fucking look like your hurting, Dreena! Ang isang mang-aagaw na gaya mo ay walang karapatang masaktan! Elijah was supposed to be mine! Alleck is mine! Everything you have is all mine! But what did you do?! You snatched them away from me! Mang-aagaw ka!" Lily spat.

Bawat salita nito ay bumabaon sa buo niyang pagkatao. Ni hindi niya alam kung papaano niya ipagtatanggol ang sarili. Maybe because what she said was partly true.. even though she agreed to marry Elijah because she wanted to help him, a part of her was happy that he asked her for marriage and be his lawful wife. Kahit alam niyang masasaktan lang din siya sa bandang huli. Kahit alam niyang hindi niya ito kayang pigilan sa oras na hilingin na nito ang kalayaan nito ay pumayag pa rin siya. Maybe that's how loving works for someone who can't be loved back, nagiging martir.. nagiging makasarili..

But was everything she did hateful? Malaking kasalanan ba na umasa siya? Naging mang-aagaw ba talaga siya noong sinimulan niyang isipin na lahat ng iyon ay totoo at hindi lang pagpapanggap? All she wanted was to feel how it would be like to be married to the man you love.. Kahit pa ang turing nito sa iyo ay hindi na hihigit pa sa isang kapatid.

Naging kalabisan ba iyon?

"Matagal ka ng may pagtingin kay Elijah! Kaya noong inalok ka niya ng kasal upang mapagtakpan ang relasyon namin, pumayag ka! Anong sinabi mo sa sarili mo? Na ginawa mo iyon dahil isa kang matalik na kaibigan? Dahil kailangan ka niya? Hah! Lies! You grabbed the opportunity because you wanted Elijah for yourself!"

"Hindi ko siya inagaw sa iyo, Lily. Inaamin ko, nagmahal tayo ng parehong lalaki but God knows, kahit gustong gusto kong sabihin sa kanya, not once did I ever told Elijah about my feelings. Dahil alam ko, ikaw ang mahal niya. Ikaw ang mas pipiliin niya! Nagsasabi ako ng totoo Lily!"

"Lies! You were so used to getting what you want kaya akala mo maaangkin mo kahit na anong bagay na hindi sa iyo! At hindi pa kayo nakuntento ng matandang iyon, pati anak ko balak ninyong angkinin! Mga walanghiya! Kaya nararapat lamang ang sinapit ng ama ni Elijah, isa siyang matapobre at sakim! Nararapat siyang mamatay!"

Natutop niya ang kamay sa bibig. So the old man died not because of natural causes, Lily was the one who killed him!

"Yes, I killed him! And I took great joy in doing it. And now you're next bitch!"

Before anyone could move, Elle already had Lily's neck wrapped around her fingers.

"I will kill---" She tried to say but Elle cut her off by giving her neck a not too gentle shove against the wall.

"Listen here, wench! And listen very well.." Elle hissed. "You do not threaten a Sinclair, you lying, two faced vindictive bitch! You deserve to spend the rest of your miserable life in this rotting dungeon suffering in agony you'd be wishing for death!" She shove her neck again, this time harder. "But death is too kind for you, isn't it?"

"Elle!"

Ngunit tila ito bingi sa mga sigaw nila dito. Sa halip ay nagpatuloy lamang ito.

"Poor thing.." Elle said, disgust was visible on her face. "Hate and loathing is eating you up there is no more left of you. Maybe, if only you had become a better person, a better mother for Alleck, then you wouldn't have lost Elijah and your son. But Karma's a bitch girl. It's catching up on you. It's saying no more fairy tales for you. I hate to be the bad guy here but someone needs to introduce you to reality. Someone as evil as you doesn't deserve happiness."

"Bi---ti---wan..." Lily let out a couple of choking gasps but still, Elle didn't let go.

"Elle!" I shouted. I looked around in panic. "Someone stop her!"

Cole was the one who stepped in and grabbed Elle's wrist in a firm grip to stop her from strangling Lily to death.

Lily took a lungful of air after she was freed from Elle's death grip. Halos umiyak ito habang ginagawa iyon. At kahit sa kabila ng ginawa nito, nadoon pa rin ang kaniyang simpatya para dito.

"Oh c'mon!" Elle said in exasperation, "The reason why this ruthless bitch had the audacity to hurt you was because you are such a good girl Dee! Let us change that for once, shall we?" Then the sinister smile was back on her face, "After all, Sinclairs are known to collect their dues tenfold.. and will you please get your peasant's hands off of me?!." Pilit nitong iwinawaksi ang kamay na nakakulong sa palad ni Cole but he refused to let go.

"Elle... that's enough.." Hinang hinang wika ko.

Nakakapagod.. nakakapagod na.

"T-they were mine. You took them away from me.." Lily tried to say. Nanginginig ito. Puno ng takot ang mga mata lalo pa't kitang kita nito na ayaw paawat ni Elle kay Cole.

"Elle--"

Natigilan ako ng makawala ito kay Cole. She was about to grab Lily's hair when Cole beat her to it. Lily's eyes widened. Sa sobrang takot ay nawalan ito ng malay.

"That's enough!" Derrick roared. "Cole, get Elle away from here. Mason, surrender the prisoner to the police. And you," Baling nito kay James, "Take Dreena with you upstairs, I need a drink."

"What?" Elle shrieked. "Derrick--- oh! Get away from me you bastard!"

"Silence woman!" Cole hissed. "Kung sa inaakala mo ay gustong gusto kong hawakan ka ay nagkakamali ka. I can't even bear your fucking smell!"

Elle looked at him agape, "W-what..?"

Derrick sighed. "You two are making my head ache. Lumabas na kayo dito, maaari ba?" Utos nito dalawa.

Tahimik naman na kinaladkad ni Cole si Elle palabas.

"How dare you! Bitawan mo ako! Derrick! Derrick!"

"You do know it's my sister that bastard is manhandling, don't you?"

"For god's sake, not now Thomas. Ihatid mo na lamang si Dreena sa kwarto niya."

"No need. I need some time alone with myself."

Liningon siya ni James. Concern was on his face.

"Are you sure Dee? I could--"

"James please... not now.."

"Fine. Just call me if you need me, okay?"

Tumango na lamang siya saka umalis.
