Game Night

CHAPTER 9

I jumped up out of the bed, realizing

I had overslept. It was 5:45. Cin's

game started at 6. I looked at my

phone for the time & realized Devyn

& Ariana had blew me up! I just knew

I was getting the dog life. I freshened

up, put on light makeup, and got

dressed. I called Devyn on my way

out the house, the phone rang once

before she picked up. " GET HERE! "

she yelled. " I'm sorry, I overslept " I

said as I groaned. " You fuckn up ! " I

heard Ariana say in the background.

Devyn began to speak but I hung up

to quickly and didn't have time to

call back. I flew to Ariana's house,

she lived right down the highway

from me. They were already waiting

on me outside with the decorated

poster an balloons. We were takin

my car, I figured. Ariana hoped in the

back, while Devyn rode in the

passenger seat. " I'm sorry guys, I

overslept " I said with a sad face. "

Its okae, we gone be on time ",

Ariana said. We walked into the

game at 6:10 to realize that we

missed Cin's ceremony. I felt I was

to blame , but hey, we still had

gotten her gifts. We moved into the

student section.. It was full AS

FUCK! We barely had a place to sit.

We sat close together as we held

Cin's poster up & cheered for her "

Yeah Cin! " Devyn said. Minutes

passed.. &' my attention was drawn

as Caine walked into the game with

Chase 2 other boys. My heart fell

into my stomach. I hurry and turnt

my head & I felt Devyn eyes burning

me again. " I hope she stops doing

this shxt " I said to myself. Caine and

his friends sat I the bleachers across

from the visitors side, next to the

student section. I could breathe

again... I began to text Trey.

ME : WYD

TREY : On my way to the Bay

The Bay is what we called our city.

ME : Game ? Or naw ?

TREY : yeah , I'll be there.

Like 10 minutes later I saw Trey walk into the game. He sat in the visitors side.

ME : I see you! Lol

Trey : Where you at Stalker ?

ME : Student section, 2nd row with a green military green beanie..

I looked up across the gym &

noticed Trey sticking his middle

finger my way, I laughed. Trey texted

me the heart eyes emoji.

ME : I'm cute ?

Trey : Beautiful!

I blushed at the sight of the text. But

ignored it. The girls game was over.

They had gotten the win. " Yeah Cin

YEAH! " I said as I stood up &

clapped. The girls cleared the court

& the boys ran onto the court ,

beginning their warmup for their

game. I clapped as I watched Kendal

run out. I still hadn't heard from him

sense earlier in the morning. Their

warm up time ended & it was time

for the game to start. The game was

about what and what until the fourth

quarter. Our opponents were up by 7

points , with 0.15 seconds left in the

game. I knew Kendal would be upset

, so I prepared myself for the worst.

We all walked out of the game.. &

moved into my car. Everyone was in

an upsetting mood so we didn't go

eat &' the drive to drop Ariana &

Devyn off was fairly quiet. As I pulled

into my driveway, I looked at the

time. It was 10:00, & I still hadn't

heard from Kendal. I went inside...

Showered up, & got ready for school

the next day. I finished up around

11:30 , & still no text from Kendal. I

didn't know how to feel. I simply

wanted to be there for him but

obviously he didn't want me to. "

Damn" I said as I buried my face in

my pillow. When I woke up at 12:30 I

realized I had dozed off with my

head in my pillow, enough to

smother myself. I rolled unde my

covers about to fall back asleep

when my phone rang from a text . It

was from Kendal.

Kendal : Wyd ?

Me : About to go to bed

Kendal : GoodNight then

I read the text, threw my phone & fell

into a deep sleep.
