"Say that again?" Mush said so softly and quietly.
I just whimpered even more, feeling like my face was dunked in a bucket of water. Muffled whimpers and sobs were constantly escaping my covered lips. I just kept shaking my head. I slowly removed my hand from my mouth, the sobs becoming more clear as I took a loud, shaky breath, realizing how much I truly missed him.
"M-Mush.." I squeaked quietly.
He shakily, slowly crawled towards me and reached out to touch my knee.
I swatted his arm away and turned around, so he faced my back.
"R-Race? Buddy?" Mush said so, so softly.
"DON'T CALL ME..don't call me Race.." I almost screamed.
"Look at me." He ordered. I just shook my head and cried even more.
He pulled me around and lifted my chin, forcing me to look him in the eye.
"Now that I know youse is secretly the leader of Queens.." He said, tears pricking his eyes.
"M-Mush.. don't tell. Please." I pleaded, feeling so, so, worthless.
"I-I won't.. I promise.." He said, with a silent, glistening tear rolling down his face.
I widened my eyes. I was so surprised he said that.
"Really?"
"That's what best friends are for.."
I smiled at his words.
But it was fake. All the happiness, all the smiles, all the laughs. They're fake.
I'm never happy anymore. Not after Spot left. I will never, ever be happy.
"Wipe that fake smile off your face." He ordered.
My smile slowly faded and I looked to the ground. He reads me too well. Way too well.
"I'm not happy anymore. I never smiled a real smile for years now.." I said weakly.
"You still love Spot..huh?" Mush said slinging his arm softly around my shoulder.
I let out the loudest sob I could ever muster and dug my head into my knees.
"He still loves you too ya know--" I interrupted Mush.
"NO HE DOESN'T. HE LEFT ME. AND HE NEVER CAME BACK!!" I shrieked.
"That's not true!!" Mush defended.
"Stop it. He doesn't love me."
"Well you better get yer act together cuz youse seeing him again."
