She sat on the branch of a low tree . Its leaves had barely just begun to lose their color .

But they were still there .

He could've given his skateboard just one push and he would've been gone , leaving her in that tree . Skittles in hand but , he didn't .

He stared at her and she stared right back .

She didn't show any discomfort of being so intensly looked at , but instead had the same intense look in her wild eyes.

Slowly , she let herself slip from in between the branches . Landing just steps away from him .

His breathe caught in his throat . He really wanted to scream .

But he didn't .

She approached him confidently , keeping eye contact .

What are you doing ? He wanted to ask .

Don't talk to me He wanted to say .

You don''t know who I am .

" Have the rest of these skittles " .

She dropped the bag in his hands , the skittles clicking together with the impact , and even with his headphones in , the music stopped , he could hear her footsteps in the grass as she walked away .

The bottom of the bag was filled with red skittles .
