How far

He pushed with his foot , as hard as he could , seeing how far he could take himself before he had to push again.

The wheels of his skateboard rolled down the sidewalk , the solitary noise crackling with every crack or rock he had to overcome. 

His unruly hair swatted at his face as the cool evening wind blew against him . 

He came upon a stop light and set his foot down , waiting patiently for the cars to stop . 

A familiar tension overtook his back , people were watching him  . 

He didn't bother to turn around , to figure out who was watching him , or why they were watching him. He already knew the reason all too well , everyone stared at him for the same reason . They all judged him for the same reason . 

He wasn't the only skateboarder in town , least likely the only rowdy one . Furthermore that wasn't the reason they stared or judged or whispered things behind his back .
