Chapter 6: Café

Winter's POV:
~6pm~
I took the fastest cab to Central Park & I walk around
I search for a café
Sure enough I find it & I walk towards it
I sit down with Nate
"Where's Mary?" I ask curious to where she is
He points to the children playground
I smile
"So why am I here?" I ask smirking & tapping my finger on my cheek
He giggles
"I wanted to ask you something.." He says
I nod & look at him
"Go ahead..what is it?" I ask
"Okay...I know we've known each other for only 3 days but I find you mesmerizing & I-I just wanna get to know you better..ugh why did I stutter? I sound like I'm 10 all over again...what I'm trying to say is...would you like to go out sometime?" He asks smiling
I stay there thinking
He pulls out a blue rose
"I found this & thought of you." He says
He hands me it
I tear up
How did he know my favorite color was blue??
Christian never did any of this kind of stuff..
"Mary picked it out...she said you liked blue" he says
Bingo.
I giggle & wipe a tear rolling down quickly
So he doesn't see
"So...??" He says waiting for a answer
"Yes I would love it actually" I say smiling
"How's tomorrow night?" He asks
"Don't you have work?" I ask raising a eyebrow
"That day I get off early." He says smiling
"Okay...then it's a date." We both say at the same time
He looks at me & i look at him
I look up & we lock eyes
He leans in & presses his lips on mine
All of a sudden..
"Oooh is she gonna be my new mommy?" I hear a small familiar voice say
I giggle & pull away
I wipe the lipstick off Nate's lips
Mary giggles
"Idk sweetheart" Nate says
"We'll have to see.." He says
I take a huge gulp out of my coffee
I finish it & toss it in the trash bin
"How about we all play in the park together huh?" I ask Mary
She nods
"Yes yes yes follow me!" She says & drags me along with Nate to the park with her..
Funny it feels like I have a daughter.....
I place her on a slide & she shakes her head
"Play with me." She says giggling
I smile & climb up a ladder
I hop on the children's playground set
I sit down & she places my hands around her
I hold her tightly
"Hold on" I say
as we're about to slide down
She holds onto me tightly
"Okay. Go!" She says & we slide down together
We fly off the slide & We fall on the ground
We're laughing
Nate reaches for my hand
As if he's trying to help me up..
I grab it & stand up..
he lifts Mary up & carries her around
she fights him as we're about to leave
"Wait daddy before we go.." She says
He puts her down & her little legs go running into the flower bushes
Which is covered in frost due to the weather
It's reported it'll be snowing in the days coming...
Not tonight but hopefully soon..
She runs back to me with a small flower bud
That's not even blossomed yet...
It still has roots & they look awfully dry..
She hands me it
"I always liked this flower..but daddy won't let me bring it home" she says smiling
"Thank you Mary Hun..but this flower isn't done growing" I say
"In this cold? That flower is just scared & hiding..maybe with you...you can take care of her & I can go over to your house to check on her." She says
I giggle & hold the flower softly so I don't crush it
"Okay Mary." I say & pinching her cheek
She pulls my face closer to her & she kisses my cheek
"Goodnight" she says & Nate lifts her up
"Goodnight Mary..goodnight Nate" I say blushing
"Goodnight...Winter I'll be seeing more of you hopefully.." He says winking
I feel butterflies in my stomach just by that wink alone
"Hey I'll walk you home" he says smiling
"No no-"
"I insist" he says & reaches for my hand again
I grab it & he walks me home...
