CHAPTER 3

“M-Mate…?”I whisper unconvinced, looking up. The man was…. If I said attractive, I’d be lying… He’s so deliciously, mouth-wateringly handsome, sexy. Words fail to describe his glory, with all the meaning of the word. It is impossible that this beautiful creature is my mate… I could stare at him all day and all night long.

“Yes, my beauty?”

Oooh his voice… Deep, throaty but surprisingly soft, I don’t want to hear anyone else’s voice, only his. His full, rosy lips curve upwards in a smile while he looks at me. I take a moment to admire his facial characteristics. There is light stubble across his jaw line and up the edges of his cheekbones. Long, thick eyelashes surround his dark, forest green eyes looking directly into my pale blue ones.

“Um, I-I…”

A frown forms on his lips, oh why are you frowning?

“You are not rejecting me, are you?!” Is all he says, looking with wide eyes down at me, panic and fury written all over his face.

I shook my head quickly “No, no! I wouldn’t ever… It’s just...” Hesitating, I look up at him, wavering on whether or not to tell him.

His face turns from angry to one of relief, then questioning as he looks at me “Just?”

As I am about to reply, a shriek comes from the crowd and I suddenly remember we are not alone.

Everyone’s head snap towards the red haired she-wolf standing with her arms crossed above her notsonatural chest, her face’s color matching her hair “SHE CAN’T BE YOUR MATE. I WORTH A MILLION, A BILLION MORE THAN… THAT!” She spats, looking at me with an envious look.

I open my mouth to reply, but growl comes out from my mate and we all duck at its power.

“Do NOT disrespect my mate again, or you will be banned from the pack. Apologize to your future Luna, NOW” His fierce, strict voice makes the girl shrink from the Alpha order which is still in the air, before she bows her head low and give a former apology. After that, she scurries away.

“Alpha Leo. I think we need to congratulate you and Alexia.” Alpha Max’s voice makes us turn around. I can’t help the smile that forms on my lips. I knew I wasn’t too young or old to find my mate, but I never thought he’d be so handsome or kind with me.

“Thank you, Alpha Max.” Leo nods his head in a polite gesture and takes hold of my hand. Immediately, I feel the sparks and fireworks once again, this time I hear the bells ring in my ears and I am suddenly filled with an incredible feeling of euphoria and happiness that I simply can’t describe. I have a suspicion he does too, but I can’t tell. I hope he does…

“So… Alexia it is…” I love how my name lingers on his lips, how his voice changes when he speaks to me. It’s not harsh or commanding, but soft and makes me feel loved. Even if we only know each other for half an hour or so.

I nod my head and walk with him in the pack house. It seems we’re not the only ones finding our mates. Our Beta, Derek, is holding a petite, blonde girl in his arms, staring lovingly at her. Also, something that makes me smile at the irony, our twins, Julie and Lizzie hold hands with a couple of twins from the other pack.

“What are you thinking?” He mumbles, starring at me with an amused smile. I flush but meet his gaze “I am happy that members from both are packs have found each other’s mates.”

“You are so caring. You will be a wonderful Luna for my pack Alexia. Tell me about you. Your family?”

“Well, my mother and father have been together for more than 20 years… I have an older brother, Chris. And last year I graduated from school” I say with quite a proud grin, which only makes him grin too.

My wolf is howling in happiness, her mate is so close and his joy seems to affect mine.

“Very well.” Leo smiled and we headed to the kitchen, where we both sat, close to each other. I wasn’t comfortable enough to sit on his lap as he instructed at first.

“How about your family?” I ask, trying to learn more about my handsome mate.

“Well, I have three siblings, two boys and one girl. Their names are Steven, Mark, and Lucy is my little sister. I am the oldest. My mother and father have been together for looong time. They met when they were 15 and 17 each.”

“Lucky you… I’ve always wanted a sister… I only got my brother.” I said with an unconscious pout, and he grinned before lightly pinching my cheek. “This pouting is very cute.” Blushing furiously, I cover my cheeks and turn around.

Oh Moon Goddess…

 

I feel rather than hear his throaty, deep laugh. It sends tingles all over my body, making me shudder at the feeling, goosebumps covering my arms and back.

“Please, do not cover your face. You look so beautiful when you blush.” His strong hands find my shoulders and he spins me around, flashing me a disarming smile.

I swear, I melted…
