Chapter 14

  Two weeks past and Callie had very little contact with any of her family (other than Mike) and she hated it. Mike took her phone for the first week so that she couldn't contact Brandon and when she received her phone back Mike has erased everything that had to do with Brandon on her phone. By now Callie accepted the thought that maybe Brandon just stopped caring or moved on. At school it pained her to see that all the classes she had with Brandon he had transferred out of and she almost never saw him around school. Whenever she saw Mariana she was too afraid that she would be mad at her to approach her and she didn't even consider Jude or Jesus. Right now Callie was eating dinner with Mike and he was going on and on about his day at work. When Mike noticed Callie wasn't really paying attention he said," Cal, look I know this arrangement may not be the happiest for you but you made a decision when you and Brandon had that little fling." Callie shot her head up and said angrily," It was not a fling." Mike shook his head and responded," Callie I get it okay, you had this new guy in the house, he was interesting, attractive, I get it." Callie rolled her eyes and mumbled," It's more than that." " Doesn't matter what it was he is just going to end up hurting you or worse it will end up hurting the family," Mike said trying to get Callie to agree with him. Callie stood up from the table and said," I have a lot of homework to do." Mike nodded and Callie left to her room. Callie grabbed her guitar and started playing it. She missed playing guitar and she never really felt empty and alone enough to actually play it. It saddened her that she only played it when she feels this way but when there isn't someone to comfort her music finds a way. Callie was playing and getting lost in the music that the only way she knew that her phone was ringing was the vibration in her pocket. She laid her guitar down next to her and looked at the number calling but the weird part was that she had never seen this number in her life. Questionably she answered and said hesitantly," Hello?" There was shuffling in the background until she heard an answer," Callie, hey." Callie's mouth fell open and she could barely say," Brandon?" " Yes it's me. God, I miss you so much! I see you all the time at school but I know I can't say anything to you because of what Stef and Lena said but I couldn't take it anymore so I had to call you. Callie I feel so guilty for this and I wish it didn't end up this way," Brandon said with so much happiness because he loved hearing her voice. Callie smiled and said," It's fine, you don't have to feel guilty." Callie heard Brandon let out a breath of relief and then say," Okay but I need to see you." Callie thought for a moment and then remembered something and said," Well my dad is going to be working late tomorrow night so if you could find a way to come over maybe around 6?" Brandon took a little longer to respond but he eventually said," I will try but Stef and Lena are constantly watching and keeping track of where I go so I might not be able to." " That's fine either way it is amazing to talk to you," Callie said with slight disappointment. Brandon sensed this but he ignored it and said," Yeah you t-, uh Callie I have to go now I am sorry by." Brandon had said that second half so fast she could barely tell what he had said. The next night Callie was in her pajamas watching a movie when she heard a knock at the door. Callie stood up and when she answered the door she said with a gasp," Brandon." Brandon smiled and said," Hey." Without hesitation Brandon walked closer to her and smashed his lips on her's. Callie smiled and kissed back pulling him closer. Without breaking the kiss the two walked into the house and Brandon closed the door. Brandon started deepening the kiss and Callie didn't want it to end. She wanted to be closer and so did he but they were interrupted when her phone started going off. Callie moaned and pulled away and checked her phone. She saw that Mike was calling so she quickly answered and said," Hey Dad." " Hey Cal I am on break and I just wanted to let you know that I will be home around midnight so don't stay up too late," Mile said. Callie nodded and said," Okay dad will do." With that she hung up the phone and tossed it. Brandon smiled and said," So where were we?" Callie smiled back and pulled him towards her and the two ended up making out for a good ten minutes. By now Brandon and Callie were on the couch laying down, Callie wasn't sure where this was going so she pulled away and said," Brandon I um don't feel like we should um-" " Callie it's okay I understand," Brandon interrupted while sitting up. Callie moved so that she and Brandon were sitting next to each other and said," It isn't that I don't want to I just feel like we should wait until we at least aren't sneaking around." Brandon gave Callie a warm smile and said," I know and I want you to know that I will wait as long as we need to because I truly love you." Callie felt so happy by this and she smiled really big and said," I am so lucky to be loved by a guy like you because you Brandon are the best thing that has ever happened to me." Brandon grabbed Callie's hand and said," You are the best thing to happen to me as well." " When the time comes I want you to be my first consensual sex," Callie said realizing how much she meant that and in a way it slightly scared her but she knew she was happy. Brandon wrapped her in a hug and kissed the top of her head. The next morning Callie was sleeping happily in her bed until she heard her dad yell," Callie!" She practically jumped out of bed and ran into the living room and said," What?" " Why is Brandon's phone number in your recent calls? Have you talked to him on the phone?" Callie shook her head and said," No, I haven't talked to him since I left." Mike put her phone down and said," Callie don't lie to me." Callie didn't respond, she just tried to avoid eye contact. Mike angrily shook his head and said," That's it I am calling Stef and Lena and having a restraining order put on Brandon!" Callie was shocked and she pleaded," Dad I am sorry just please don't do this." Mike sighed and said," Cal how am I supposed to help you get over him if you are sneaking around and talking to him?" Mike grabbed his keys and before he left he said," This is for the best." Callie mentally slapped herself for not deleting her call history and she sat down on the couch hoping that Brandon doesn't hate her. After school Brandon was walking home with Mariana, Jesus, and Jude and when they walked up to the house Mariana said," Why are both moms here... and Mike?" The boys exchanged confused glances and they cautiously entered the house. When they did Stef, Mike, and Lena were in the living room by the front door and Lena said," Brandon we need to speak with you." The other kids turned their attention towards Brandon and Brandon asked," What is going on?" Stef looked at Jesus and Jude and said," You guys head upstairs please?" Jude shook his head and said," No I won't leave Brandon." Mike just wanted to get this over with so he stepped towards Brandon and said," Brandon this is a restraining order, if you go within one hundred feet of Callie or try to contact her you will be arrested." Jude instantly grew angry and looked at Brandon and said," What did you do?" Brandon was too angry at this to acknowledge or answer Jude's question and he said," This is bull." And he started to walk out of the house. " Brandon we understand that you and Callie feel that you like each other and this restraining order makes sure that you two give each other the space-" Lena started but Brandon cut her off and scoffed and said," To what? Get over each other? Well that's not going to happen we're in love!" With that Brandon left the house and Lena said," Where is he going?" Stef grabbed her keys and said," I think I have an idea." Mike followed her out and the two went into Stef's car to go to Mike's house. When they got there Callie was still on the couch staring at nothing and Mike asked," Callie have you seen Brandon?" Callie looked towards them and said," No, why?" Stef and Mike looked at each other and Stef said," Then where could he be?" Callie stood up and offered," I will help look." A few hours later after looking Callie finally spotted Brandon at the beach. She was across the street and she yelled," Brandon!" Brandon heard her and started walking towards her. Callie knew it was him so she started running to the other side until she felt herself being knocked down. She felt a sharp pain and heard her name being yelled but the next thing she knew was everything going black.
