Chapter 8

(Nakaraan)

Pagkasabi ko nun, tumalikod na ako sa kanya. I don't want to test my control. Alam ko rin kung hanggang saan lang to. Naramdaman ko na rin na tumalikod sya. Kaya ngayon, magkatalikudan na kami. Tinuloy ko na ang pagpikit at pagpapaantok though I know, with the thoughts I have in my head kanina will make this night a very long and painful night.

Chapter 8

Tara's POV

Another day. I woke up but I didn't bother na gisingin pa si Kent. Isa pa, naiinis pa rin ako sa kanya at sa mga kalandian nila nung Ami na yun.

Umalis ako ng maaga sa bahay to prepare for the presentation kay Mrs. Carolina. Today is the day na iprepresent na namin ang proposal namin sa kanya. Sana magustuhan nya at tanggapin na nya yung deal namin. I have my fingers crossed.

Bumukas ang pinto sa conference room.

"Is everything ready?" Si Kent. He's wearing his 'business face' again. Yung cold and hard ang dating. Like telling na I'm ready to face everything.

"Yes." Akmang lalabas na ito when I called him again. "Kent."

Automatic, lumingon ito sa akin. "What?"

"Don't wear that."

Napatingin ito sa suot nya. "Is there something wrong with what I am wearing today?"

"No. Actually you look, hmm.." Perfect. "..fine. What I mean is the face. I know, Mrs. Carolina would want to see the face that she saw first nung una nating meet-up, not that face,"

"But this is what is right. Ayokong magmukang bibigay tayo sa lahat ng gusto ng client. I should be tough, serious. You know that."

"Kent, Mrs. Carolina sees his husband sayo. Mr. Villanueva doesn't face his clients neither his employees with that kind of face. Malapit sila sa lahat. They are kind and loving. They treat everybody as their family, and I know, kapag nakuha natin ito, they'll be treating us the same."

"Fine, is this your strat?"

"Just a part of it." I smiled and winked at him.

"Well then, we'll have our fingers crossed."

Nagsimula kami ng dumating ang client, si Mrs. Carolina. This time, hindi puro si Kent ang nagsalita. Unlike dati na he always does the talking, ngayon, I started talking para magkaroon ng feminine and motherly side yung presentation. Pati na rin yung sa proposal, I decided na baguhin yun ng konti, like adding a more family-centered points dun pero ofcourse, with the approval of Kent. He said naman na as long as gagana yun at hindi kami dehado, he wouldn't mind.

"This is the end of our presentation, Ma'am. If you have questions, you are free to ask." Sabi ni Kent. Sa totoo lang, masyadong naging matahimik si Mrs. Carolina. She just keeps on listening. Kung sa iba yun, they would barge in and start asking questions and everything.

"Well then, I think, we'll have the contract signed within this week. Congratulations. I know, kayo na talaga ang hinahanap ko." She said, standing up, walking towards us. Inaabot niya ang kamay ni Kent and smiled. "You did well." 

"Thank you Ma'am. We really are thankful."

"Tara? Congratulations. Alam kong ikaw ang isa sa mga bumuo ng concept nito." She reached sa akin at bumeso sa akin.
