Chapter Twenty Two: A Very Happy New Year

Colette's Point Of View

Today is New Years Eve. Which is quite exciting. Alex has been here just under a week now and she's a pretty cool kid. She's told us everything she could and she probably knows us just as well since Fred and George like to throw in a 'fun fact about Lottie' every now and again and more than likely embarrass me. I think Fred and Lee were shocked when I showed off when they told her I could fit my foot in my mouth. George kept going 'Told you she wouldn't care' and now Alex keeps asking awkward questions even I can't answer. Yes. How on earth did he know I didn't mind about that?

Alex has been sleeping on a mattress in our dorm room. I don't see why. Katie and Alicia aren't here and Angelina seems to have disappeared into thin air so there's four beds to chose from. But no. She insists on sleeping on a mattress on the rug in the middle of the floor instead of in a comfy bed. Suit yourself I suppose. But back to the event at hand. Me and George were playing wizard chess and Fred was showing Alex a transfiguration book in the corner. We kept looking up at them every so often and they were really into that book... "You know George." I said,

"Lottie?"

"I reckon you're wrong." I said, nodding,

"Yeah. So do I."

"What am I talking about?"

"Them two." He said, "Knight to D1."

"Yeah but why are you wrong?" I asked him,

"I told you he wouldn't be bother about her." He said and nodded towards the board,

"Erm .... Bishop to C6." I said, "And well done. Correct."

"Of course I'm right." He smirked, "Queen to C8."

"You little--" I began but was interrupted by the portrait door opening and in walked Professor McGonagall,

"Ahh Colette." She said and walked in and stood next to me, "Where's Alexandra?"

"Over there." I said and pointed, "Oi! Friendly people! Get over here!" I shouted and waved over a disgusted looking Alex and a pretty annoyed looking Fred, "What's up then Professor?" I said, sitting on the couch and George parked himself next to me as Fred and Alex sat on the other couch opposite us,

"Mr Weasley's. You don't need to be here."

"No they need to stay too." Alex said and pulled her legs onto the couch and lent back, "So really, what's up?"

"Well..." She said, wrinkling her nose as Fred and George were staring at her as interested as us. Well, what's the worst that could happen? "Dumbledore was wondering if you two would like the spare dorm since well ... there's not enough room for you all and I hear you Colette," She said and pointed at me, "Do not get on too well with someone who shares your dorm." McGonagall looked over her glasses at me with that all knowing look. I looked down and George nudged me gently.

"Yeah where is she?" Fred asked and earned a glare from us all. Even Alex and she hasn't even met her.

"Her parents ask for her to go home on Tuesday." McGonagall said, not meeting any ones eyes,

"But that was two days after Christmas." Fred question and got himself a poke from Alex. I laughed at them and even McGonagall cracked a smile,

"Yea. But that is off topic Mr Weasley. But what do you two say? Yes or no."
