Chapter Seven: The Walk Under The Stars

Colette's Point Of View

And from there, I allowed George to drag me outside and we sat at the bottom of the stairs for a while in a silence. It wasn't one of them awkward silences when you just gotta make a turtle with your hands, but one of them silences you could just enjoy. If that's possible. I sat there thinking about things and looking around the grounds. I kept seeing George look at me through the corner of my eye which made me feel a little awkward for a few minutes. But then I realised I was looking at him too, which didn't really help me in anyway possible. But oh well. And after about ten minutes of looking at the stars, I broke the silence, "So any reason we're out here in the cold?" I asked him. He sighed and avoided looking at me,

"Nope. I was just fed up since Fred went to bed and Lee fobbed me off to hang with Angelina and her crew,"

"Angelina?"

"You not met her yet?" He asked and I shook my head, "Oh. Well, you'll meet her later."

"So you thought you'd come see me?" I smiled,

"Well, I was coming down here anyway." He shrugged,

"So you didn't make the journey especially for me?" I asked, pretending to be hurt. He looked up at me, just realising what he'd said,

"No .. I mean--"

"Shut it. Before you dig that hole of yours any deeper than it has to be." I shook my head and George grinned,

"Thanks. Well, anyway, Then I remembered about you so I hung around for like about 3 minutes until you came out and then I dragged you out to show you around."

"So why are we just sat around?" I said, standing up and brushing myself off, "Could've told me earlier. My ass was freezing on the step." I said with a smile and George laughed,

"Nah, I can't be bothered." I huffed and put my hands on my hips,

"S'up with you then?" I asked, sitting back next to him. He sighed and avoided looking at me,

"I dunno. I just don't feel the same. It's like I don't wanna be here as much this time. Like you're here and it's all new and stuff,"

"Sorry. It's me. Like everything, I ruin it." I said and looked up at the sky, "Didn't wanna come here anyway."

"You didn't?" He asked,

"Well, yeah. I did. Until the train ... Hey wait! You never denied it!" I pointed a finger at George and smirked a little. He chuckled slightly and lowered my hand,

"Of course it's not you. Now, what was you saying?"

"Dunno. You put me off." I said and folded my arms,

"Something about the train."

"Oh yeah. Well, I did want to come here until the train and Dumbledore introducing the dementors here to eat away at my soul and ruin my life some more."

"Why ... What? Hold on a second, back up a little. What you talking about?" He asked, generally sounding concerned,

"Well it's shit isn't it?" I sighed, "You can't even chill out in the grass without the risk of every last happy thing been ripped outta ya."
