Sweet Slumber

-This is my second poem with a rhyming scheme.

- This is also about how we fall asleep to ignore the problems in our lives.

I shut my enervated eyes tight.

My lengthy lashes like ebony curtains,

Beautifully blocking out the luminous light,

Enclosing me in a wonderful world of darkness.

A teaming tear sails secretly down my skin,

But soon a smile appears on my fatigued face,

As the soothing silence swiftly sets in,

Peacefully plummeting me into a sweet slumber.

Where I will stay.

Until my enervated eyes flutter open,

To face another dismal day,

Inside my manic mind.
