"You should feel better now." the woman says, sweeping away my hair.

And in doing so, she reveals her face. My mother. The though has barely registered, but I'm already on my feet and screaming. She sighs, training her eyes on my face. Immediately, I stop screaming. The look on her face is heartbreaking. I'm sure it's the expression any mother would have if their child screamed at the sight of them.

"I'm sorry that you had to meet my counterpart Jessica." she apologizes.

I can hardly think. Her voice, her beauty, is breathtaking. How is it that this woman is my mother, yet I didn't inherit any of her simple elegance, her soft grace, and effortless beauty. As if she can read my mind, she waves a hand in my face.

"This isn't all me Jess. Only the good parts. Only that grace and beauty." she clarifies for me, spreading her arms.

"The fits of anger, the hatred, the disappointment in you and myself, those have all been channeled into one very vengeful person."

"That bitch in the sickly, dying part of the garden." I state flatly.

She purses her lips. "That would be her."

"So... you're the good mom and she's the bad mom."

She sighs again. "Not necessarily. Being as good-hearted as I am, I'm a little fake. I'm not the real deal hon. Not your real mother."

Confusion clouds my face. "What? So you both aren't real?"

"No, we are. Just... separate. She's all bad and I'm all... well I guess I can't really say good." she frowns.

"Why not?" I demand.

"Because. There's a reason why there's only a patch of white and a kingdom of sickly death. I'm dying. Slowly losing myself to her. My resentment, with death, the gods, your father, sometimes even you. She can sense it. And she feeds off of it. One day, there might not be any white left. There will be no good mother to rescue you." she explains.

The next few minutes pass in silence.

"Jess? Sweetie?"

"So I'm stuck here with you then." I laugh bitterly. "She wasn't lying."

"No!" my mom is eager to correct me. "She was saying that to get under your nerves. Maybe help her take down the gods. Poseidon knows you're certainly powerful enough to take down a minor one."

"Take down... the gods?" I ask, my eyebrows furrowing.

"Mmm. I told you about my resentment for them. You're dreaming sweetheart. Everything she's saying is to influence your waking hours."

"So what am I supposed to do? Mom, I'm confused. And scared." I sob, breaking into hysteria.

It's as if all the emotions and thoughts I kept suppressed are pouring out now. My mother died. I'm an orphan now. My childhood best friend died. I'm being hunted by some lunatic. My only friends in the world are Romans. Oh and of course, I may have just died.

She leans close to me and kissed my forehead. "Wake up."

Jason's POV

"JESSICA!" I yell. "If you're hiding, this isn't funny!"

Paige portals into the space beside me. "She's not dead is she? It wasn't my fault?"

I shook my head. "Her heart stopped beating for a few minutes but then it started again. She died yeah, but only for a few minutes. She was brought back to life somehow."

"Is that even possible?"

"We're demigods. Anythings possible." I shrugged. "Unfortunately for us, we somehow lost her."

"Uh, Jason?" John yells from the other room. "I don't think we lost her."

"What the hell are you talking about?" I snap. "She's literally missing. I turned my eye for a second while you guys were gone and she disappeared."

"She's not missing just- just get your ass in here!"

I grunt in annoyance, following his voice. And am greeted by the sight of fire. Blazing up the curtains. But amazingly, no smoke is being produced. Or sound.

"Enchanted." Paige says, speaking my thoughts.

"But how? Jess belongs to the sea. She couldn't have done this."

My eyes narrow and I feel the room become darker. "I know exactly who did this. Who took her."

"I'm guessing it isn't the Romans or the Greeks?" John asks.

They already know the answer. Cyron.

And that's the end! Hope you enjoyed, and if you didn't, that's understandable too, seeing as how I started this in the seventh grade in 2011. Anyhoo, I've been inactive for a long time because Wattpad was distracting me from school basically. But I'm sort of back. On a new account this time.

sunday_afternoons

I'm going to be writing the sequel here. Don't expect frequent updates. Expect frequent lags. Seeing as how I did write this in the seventh grade and I haven't touched it for a really long time now, I've pretty much forgotten everything in the story. Readers, if you could PM me with a blurb that would be awesome and totally weird seeing as how I the writer need my readers to tell me what's going on xD

Obviously whatever ideas I had formed when writing this will have vanished, so expect something a little different. But don't worry, it'll still follow the same plot and everything. For the most part, seeing as how I never really had a plot and was writing blindly.

I do hope this made you laugh, or roll your eyes or snort or feel any kind of emotion while reading. And if you liked it, head on over to my new account! As soon as I get a cover, I'll post the books!

Thank you guys so much , I love you all <3

Yours,
