Ariana’s POV

“Do you want to get out of here for a while?” Gabriel asked when he walked back in the room after Anna helped me shower and get ready.

“Yes!” I said basically bouncing of the bed to my feet; I can’t deny that I was happy to finally get myself out of this room for a change even if it was going to be with Gabe.

“Where would you like to go?” He asked as we started walking down the hallway.

“The beach would be nice.” I said hearing the waves hit the shore through some open windows; I missed seeing the water and would love to feel it splashing onto my feet.

“Ok, but stay here for just a minute, ok?” He asked looking intently at me waiting for an answer.

“Ok.” I said walking over to the large wall of windows in the living room that overlooked the ocean; he came back minutes later with a blanket and a few bottles of water in his hands.

“Ready?” He asked motioning for the front door.

“Yep.” I replied with a smile as my excitement to get outside grew.

I know that I had only been in that room for a few days but you don’t know just how much you miss the outdoors until you are forced to be stuck inside for a period of time. Maybe it wouldn’t have been that bad if I was back at home but to know that there is a white sandy beach just feet from you and you can’t go to it is enough to drive anyone insane. The moment we rounded the house and the ocean came into view I had to stop myself from running towards it; not that I really would be able to run in my condition but it was hard not to try to.

Once we got down to the beach Gabriel laid the blanket out on the sand for us as I kicked off my sandals and walked to the edge of the water. The cool ocean water splashed up on my feet in a rhythmic motion instantly putting my mind at ease; its amazing how calming the ocean can be if you just allow your mind to be free. After a few minutes of cooling my feet in the water I went to sit on the blanket next to Gabriel. After a few minutes even through I was in just a tank top and shorts the heat started to get to me; mostly just making my arm sweat a little because it was still in this stupid sling.

“Can you take this off of me for a while?” I asked looking over at Gabriel.

“Your supposed to leave it on for at least today Ari.” He replied turning his attention back to the ocean.

“Please, just for a little while.” I used my best pouting voice; it usually worked with my parents so it was worth a try, right? The way he looked over at me and his eyes grew soft I knew it did the trick.

“Fine, but just for a little bit and I don’t want you moving around too much.” He replied as he gently lifted my arm and pulled the sling over my head; I couldn’t help the smile that spread across my face at getting my way.

“Thanks.” I replied before lowering myself on my back and closing my eyes; the warm sun soaking into my skin as a soft breeze blew over seeming to keep me at just the perfect temperature.

I had heard things about mates not being able to say no to each other and couldn’t help but wonder to myself if that was true; maybe I could use that to my advantage until I was able to get out of here and back home. My wolf growled in my head at the words and I couldn’t help but roll my eyes at her. It was like she seemed to just forget about all the hurt that Gabe had caused us and wanted nothing more than to spend the rests of our lives with him. I cant lie he really was starting to grow on me a little bit; the fact that when he was near it was like my body was on cloud nine and I felt invisible knowing that he would never let anyone hurt me, it still didn’t make up for that fact that he hurt me though.
