Philip

"What do you mean I have to protect her grandson?!" I shout at Sebastian who just sighs at me.

"Philip Arthur really isn't that bad. I think you'll really like him if you give him a chance." Sebastian responds.

"Well you'd really like Gilbert if you give him a chance!"

"Stop it Philip. Don't pin this on me. Arthur is a prince therefore you will babysit the brat and you will like it!"

"STOP FIGHTING BOYS!" Mother shouts from downstairs.

Sebastian and I both let out a groan. I didn't get the last word.....

"Sebastian." I mumble, setting the scene for me to say something sentimental. Ha! Imagine if he actually falls for it!

"What?" He turns back to look at me.

"I'm not my Father and I never will be. So you may as well give up on that fantasy now."

With that Sebastian exits and slams my door behind him. Maybe I'd been a bit too harsh but it's the truth! I'm not what my Father was and I never will be! That's never going to be enough for him.....Doesn't Sebastian understand how hard I work just to try and be enough for him.

Arthur

"Sir Prince Arthur we couldn't be more happy to have you with us." Ms. Elizabeth speaks calmly.

"The pleasure is mine. Please call me Arthur my title sounds far to formal." I respond.

"Listen, Arthur...." She's going to warn me about her son. I've already been informed of how he feels having to be my bodyguard.

"I know Ms. Elizabeth. I'm here to help him, remember that."

"FUCK YOU SEBASTIAN! LEAVE ME ALONE!"

"YOU DAMN BRAT YOU'RE NOTHING BUT AN EMBARRASSMENT TO THIS FAMILY!"

"I HATE YOU!"

"GOOD! I'M YOUR PARENT YOU AREN'T SUPPOSED TO LIKE ME!"

"I'LL BURN THE MANNER DOWN AGAIN!"

"YOU THINK YOU'LL LET AWAY WITH IT?! TRY.ME.BRAT!"

SLAM

Sebastian is knelt in front of me as calmly as if nothing had happened.

"Terribly sorry I was late sir. I'm here to escort you to your room now." He says politely.

"No worries it's already been taken care of. I'll just be seeing my way to the Earl's study." Sebastian just nods and I take off up the stairs.

"Maybe he's the one." I hear Elizabeth say. "Maybe he'll help my boy."

I roam the eerie halls of the Phantomhive manner slowly. The feeling isn't something I could every explain. As a royal I'm used to the huge, seemingly lifeless, halls. There's something different about this manner. Despite its history of death and demons it's full of life.

Then I see it. The high doors into the study that's held all three Earl Phantomhives. My heart hammers in my chest as my hand rests lightly on the door. Come on Arthur.....go in.

Then I lose it. I take off sprinting down the stairs and out the door. Elizabeth shouts for me to come back but I ignore her. I've never considered myself to be a coward.....but I've never felt more like one in this moment.

I was sent here not because I need help but because Philip needs help. It's considered my job to help people but I just don't think I'm cut out to do it. I belong on stage with my electric guitar doing what I do best.
