Ross's p.o.v

after the flash clears and my vision readjusts I look around.

“What. Was. That?” I ask slowly.

“Is everyone alright?” Rydel asks.

“Where's Laura?” I ask as I look around and realize she's not there.

Suddenly I spotted Riker on the ground clutching his ankle, gritting his teeth.

“Riker are you ok?” Rydel asks, going over to him.

“No, I think I tripped when that...whatever it was exploded, I hurt my ankle really bad.” he replies.

“Can you stand?” Rocky asks, joining them.

He pulls himself up onto his knees and tries to stand, falling back to the ground.

He shakes his head.

“Uh uh.” he replies.

Rydel curses under her breath.

“Now what?” Rocky asks.

“Guys have you seen Laura?” I ask again.

“Well if I never believed in ghosts before I think I do now.” Ratliff states.

“HEL-LO! has anyone seen Laura?” I ask again.

They all look at me suddenly.

“Sorry Ross, what was that?” Rydel asks.

“HAS. ANYONE. SEEN. LAURA?” I ask slowly.

They look around.

Rydel shakes her head.

“This isn't good, Riker is hurt and now Laura's missing.” she starts to freak.

Ratliff goes over to her, grabbing her shoulders.

“Rydel, CALM, DOWN.” he says comfortingly.

“Ok, well, let's worry about Riker for right now.” she replies, taking a breath.

“Hey! I saw some bandaging in the backpack maybe that will help.” I reply, tossing her the backpack.

“I'll go see if I can find a couple of boards to make a splint.” Rocky replies, running towards the other end of the prison yard.

Soon rocky returns with two boards.

They bandage Riker's ankle and he stands up carefully.

“Well...this could slow things down a bit.” he replies glumly.

“Ok, just relax, maybe Laura just made it back inside the gym.” Ratliff suggests as we head back to the doors leading to the gym.

They open with a creek and we go inside.

“Laura?” I call out, the others joining me.

“She's obviously not in here.” I state obviously, kicking aside an aluminum can.

“Well she couldn't have gone too far.” Rydel replies.

“Maybe the ghosts took her!” Rocky snickers.

I punch him in the shoulders.

“That's not funny!” I exclaim.

“OW! Take it easy, we'll find your girlfriend ok?” he asks
