Auron

You knew the one person whom you trusted from the beginning. Auron sat in an awkward silence as you had begun to eat from the plate that he placed in front of you, scrambled egg on toast.

“Sorry, I’m not a very talented cook” Auron offered a crooked grin. You placed your fork down as you shoveled the last of it into your mouth.

“It’s okay;” you offered a shy smile “It was nice.” Kairi had already fallen asleep on the couch. You couldn’t help but notice how timid she looked. She had just played along with what you wanted, saying nothing throughout.

“The spare room is ready for you” Auron noted.

“Thanks” you smiled as you climbed to your feet. Auron took the plate from you and headed for the kitchen.

“Upstairs on the right” he informed you. You offered a warm thankful nod as you walked up the stairs and found the room. It was painted a light shade of green with a single bed in the corner. You sighed before pulling the sheets back and climbing into the bed. You heard Auron’s footsteps on the stairs as you closed your eyes. You heard him come into your room and sit beside you.

He must have thought you were asleep as he began to talk to you, “Sleep well, I’ll do whatever it takes to protect you.” You felt the sensation of a warm kiss on your temple before you heard him stand, his footsteps descending out of the room.

Axel

You watched as Axel pushed through the door before stepping inside himself.

“You can stay in my room, I can protect you better from there, got it memorized” Axel grinned at you as you stepped in after him, Kairi directly behind you. Reno climbed to his feet and jumped on his brother, though he missed, landing on the floor once more.

“This way” Axel informed you, holding out a hand on the stairs, “ladies first.”

“You best be sleeping on the floor Axel!” you heard Reno shout after the two of you, Kairi had remained downstairs with him, though she had slumped off towards the sofa without a single word.

Axel rolled his eyes shouting, “Chill out bro. I will.” You reached the top of the stairs in silence. Usually Axel’s and Reno’s arguing would make you laugh, but your arm was acting up, causing a warm painful tingle. As you reached Axel’s room you noticed that the walls were a dark grey, there was a double bed beside a large window and he had laminated flooring, which didn’t look very comfortable to say the least.

“You can have the bed if you’d like” he told you.

“Thank you” you replied, exhausted before climbing into the bed. Axel turned the light off and you turned away towards the window.

“Ow” you were startled out of your sleep by the sound of Axel. He had probably just rolled on something on the floor. You sighed and turned around. Axel was cursing at a shoe.

“There is enough room for two” you told him, still half dazed. He looked up at you, quickly tossing the shoe to the side.

“You sure?” he questioned.

“It just doesn’t look very comfortable down there” you noted. Axel shrugged before standing up and climbing under the sheet beside you. You turned back to the window, away from Axel. It was not long before you felt him move closer and his arm wrapped around your stomach.

You felt a blush cross your face as you attempted a warning, “Just don’t try anything.” You heard Axel chuckle, “Don’t worry, if I did I’d never hear the end of it from Reno. Though it’s not him I’m afraid of. Our mother’s a single mother of six… and Reno’s always been a mummy’s boy, got it memorized.” You couldn’t help but giggle as you nestled down into the bed sheets. You could feel the warmth radiating from Axel’s body, which you had to admit, felt pleasant on your skin.
