Chapter 12: Tears.
I was about to fall until Liam held me from behind by my waist. He walked me out the door and I leaned on the wall. I took a few minutes just to understand what I'm going through and then fell down to the floor. I hugged my knees with both my hands and buried my face in my knees. I felt a hand touching my arm. Then he kissed my hair. I looked up to see Liam sitting on the floor next to me. I realized he also has tears in his eyes. He held my head as I cried in his chest.

*Liam's POV*
I can't stand seeing her like this. She has been crying for 8 hours nonstop. Her mom told me to take her back home. I held her in my arms as she was crying and she had her face buried in my chest. Finally, she lifted her head and whispered, "Liam, please go. I'll be fine."
"No I'm not leaving you." I said firmly.

It was two hours later and Violet was asleep in my arms. I put her on the bed and sat down beside her so that her head was on my lap. As I played with her hair, I checked my phone. Then I realized I haven’t given her her phone yet. I took her phone out and I know I'm not supposed to do this but she had 1 text and 2 calls. They were all from Lou. I called Lou from my phone. I was angry at him, but I didn’t show it. He picked up. "Hey Liam." He said. His voice didn’t show much expression. "Hey Lou." We talked for a bit and finally he said, "Hey, have you seen Violet?" I didn’t know what to tell him. But I decided to tell him the truth. "Lou, after Violet ran in the middle of the night, she got a call from the hospital that her dad might die. So she called a random number and called me because she lost conscious in the forest. It was raining and she fell. She felt better in the morning but she went to visit her dad, and well…He passed away. She's heartbroken, hurt, and she's been crying all day. She hasn't eaten anything or said a word. I don’t know what to tell you." There was a long pause and I heard him sigh. "This is all my fault. Liam, do you think she'll ever forgive me? I love her. I really do. I don’t know what made me want another girl." I could have sworn I heard him cry. I didn’t know what to say. Should I help him get her back? Or should I keep her safe from getting hurt? "I don’t know man. You should definitely get her trust back. She was heartbroken and she was really upset."
"I know man, I know! I didn’t know what happened to me at that minute. I was upset at her for leaving the party but I never wanted to cheat on her with another girl!"
"Why were you upset at her?"
"Because she didn’t tell me she was leaving… I know it's stupid."
"Lou, she actually did tell you she was going to go home because she was tired. You were just too caught up talking to Sarah…"
"DAMN! WHAT DID I DO?! I LOVE VIOLET AND ONLY HER!" he said. I heard something, most probably glass shatter. "Liam, when should I meet her? I really need to clear things up."
"Well, she's mourning over her father now, and starting tomorrow, there's going to be a funeral. Why don’t you come to the funeral tomorrow?"
"Do you know when and where?" I gave him the address and he finally said, "Liam, I have to go right now. When Violet wakes up, tell her I love her and I can't live without her." He said. I could hear the sadness in his voice. "Sure Lou, take care man." I said as I hung up. When Violet heard Lou's name, she opened her eyes and said in a low voice, "Was that Louis?" She looked at me with her big, brown shiny eyes. I couldn’t resist it. She was too beautiful. "Yes beautiful." She bit her lip and I could see the tears forming in her eyes. "He says he loves you." A tear rolled down her cheek. Softly she said, "If he loves me, why would he choose another girl over me?"
"You don’t know how much he regrets it. He says he's the biggest idiot in the world. He didn’t know what happened. He never meant to cheat on you. He loves you a lot Violet." I said to cheer her up. I saw a small smile on her lips. I wanted to just hold her tight, and kiss her forever. But no, she's my best friend and I love her to pieces.
*Violet's POV*
I had to go home and get my clothes for the funeral tomorrow. My house was 3 blocks away from Liam. He insisted on coming along with me. Liam was going to wait for me downstairs, but I held his hand, "L-Liam?" I told him, "Could you please come up with me to my room? I'm a bit scared." I took his hand and dragged him to my room. For the funeral, I chose a black long dress with a drop shoulder. It was from my dad. I also grabbed my black velvet flats to match it. I got my makeup kit, my skinny jeans and a navy blue 'A&F' hoodie. I grabbed my navy blue converse too. The house felt so empty without my dad. My mom was staying at the hospital today so I was sleeping over at Liam's.

Me and Liam didn't sleep the entire night. I stayed up drawing a couple of drawings. I realized they were horrible because I was in a bad mood. So I went downstairs, curled up and watched a movie. 'She's the Man' was on. It was a hilarious movie and I hoped it would cheer me up. I curled up and soon enough, Liam came in behind me. "OOO, I love that movie!" he said cheekily. I let out a laugh and Liam froze. "What?" I said. "You smiled!" He said with a shocked face. I could see the corners of his lips wanting to smile. I smiled back at him, "Yes, yes I did." He came and joined me on the couch and I just put my head on his shoulder. It was nice having a best friend that’s always here for you. I was blessed to have Liam with me. I don't know what I'd do without him.
