14: The Day of the Meeting

Pagpasok ko palang ng opisina ni Yael ay sumalubong na sa akin ang kanyang Executive Assistant. Sinabayan ako nitomg maglakad. "President is waiting your arrival, Miss Valdez. Do you want some coffee or tea?"

"I want this to be done in an hour. Is that possible?" Malamig kong sabi.

"Our president cleared his schedule for you, Miss Valdez."

Napamura ako sa aking isipan. "Please don't tell me, he booked a hotel after this."

Ang katahimikan nito ang naging sagot sa katanungan ko. Hindi ko mapigilan ang galit. How could she do this to me? I stood by her side, I love her. I was so good to her.

"I'll be outside, Miss Valdez. Call me in the intercom if you need anything."

I stopped my train of thoughts when the secretary opened the door. Bumungad sa amin si Yael na nakaupo sa ibabaw ng mesa nito habang nakatingin sa hawak na wine.

"Miss Valdez, it's been a while. Ilang taon na ba?" Mahinang sabi nito bago tumayo at humarap sa akin.

"I'm sorry I didn't count. I don't have that much of a free time." Saad ko.

"It's March, the weather is sizzling. And here you are, looking like a snowman." Mapangzasar itong ngumiti. "How about a warm smile before we start the meeting?"

"I'm afraid we have to charge additional payment for that. We don't want to waste your gold mines, do we?"

Umupo ako sa isa sa couch at nilapag sa centertable ang documents. I opened my laptop to present the powerpoint I made. Umupo ito sa aking tabi. He's really close to me.

"I'll lay down all the money I've got just to make you mine, Tallia." He whispered.

"Mister Ocampo, keep that in your pants. I'm here for the expansion and not to play fire with you. I hope we're on the same page."

"Yes, we are." The tone of his voice didn't change. It's still seductive.

"Then, I need your eyes on my presentation and not on my breast."

"Tallia, to tell you clearly, give me a night and you don't have to worry about anything anymore. All the documents the Sandoval Emphire needs, I'll sign it all." His hand held my face. His blue eyes were gentle and mesmerizing. "I'll help you present with the other directors and they'll approve. Just a night, Tallia."

"I think the wine got through your head, Yael. Let's just reschedule this meeting."

Bago pa man ako makatayo ay mahigpit niyang hinawakan ang braso ko. Nagsi-tayuan ang aking balahibo nang mapansin ang galit sa kanyang mga mata.

"Y-Yael, let me go. It hurts."

"You're one hell of a woman, Tallia. You always reject everything I offered. Ilan na ba kaming lalaki na napaluhod mo para sambahin ka?"

"Hindi ko alam ang sinasabi mo. Bitiwan mo ko, ano ba!"

I gasped when he pinned me down at the sofa. Hinalikan nito ang aking leeg ngunit pilit ko siyang tinutulak. Ang isang kamay niya ay nakahawak sa dalawang pulso ko at ang isa naman ay tinatanggal ang butones ng aling blusa.

"Help me, anyone. Please." Hiyaw ko.

"Sweetheart, my office is soundproof. Don't worry, I won't put it in. I just want to feel you."

"Yael, stop. I don't want this." Nanginginig na ang aking boses. Pumikit na lamang ako nang maramdaman ang init sa aking mga mata.

Napasinghap ito at dali-daling lumayo sa akin. "I'm sorry. Tallia, I'm sorry. What have I done?"
