It was finally nighttime. I was so excited, I started packing super early.
I smile as I think about how Cody said maybe, one day, we’d get married. The thought of it made me smile big.
I heard a knock on my balcony door.
“Hey, Angel.” Cody was standing at my doorway- shirtless at that.
“Oh hot dang..” I mutter under my breath. He smirks and walks up to me and sits crisscross-applesauce next to my side on the chilly floor.
I fumbled with my fingers and Cody spotted my suitcase across the room.
“Packed already, sweetheart?” He nudged my side.
“Yeah, I’m kinda excited…. If you haven’t already noticed..” I blushed.
He snickers and pulls me close to him and rubs my upper arm.
“You’re freezing!” He says suddenly.
“I know..” I murmur.
He chuckles and pulls me frontward into his lap. I curl my head under his chin and hug onto his somewhat cold and warm body. I placed my hands on his abs and let him rub my back.
“Two more weeks, Angel.. Two more weeks.” was the last thing I heard before I drifted into a dreamless sleep. I couldn’t wait till New York.
