                        RECAP ~ {Chapter Twenty-Eight} ~ :

“That’s not the problem at the moment. The main concern is her safety. Vampires could be tracking down her scent right now and the pills don’t seem to be working with that needle in effect.”

After a moment Annalise clicked her fingers. “It’s ln odorem, a scent enhancer. Creating a cure for it though won’t be easy. Only the older vampires know how to make and repel such potions.”

“No,” Natalie spoke up and our eyes turned to her, “I have seen it before, vampires have used it for tracking our kind. It however does not always work, a certain type of blood can confuse and refuse the effects of the serum.”

“What kind of blood?” My dad spoke up for the first time and her next words made everyone’s eyes turn to me.

“Mated blood.”

My heart stopped beating. Oh snap...this can't be good.

                    Purely Yours  ~ {Chapter Twenty-Eight} ~ 

“M-Mated blood?” I whispered, peeking a glance at Xavier to find his eyes directly aimed at me and I immediately looked away, my face flaming. It definitely meant what I thought then.
I shook my head. I wasn’t ready for that sort of… intimacy yet. We’ve only kissed like two times and I was just adjusting to the fact that I liked him. I haven’t even told him I liked him yet.

“His vampire blood would help reject the serum and since your blood will be combined it will confuse the serum.”

“I-I’m not ready to do something like that,” I stated a bit shakily and when a moment of silence passed my eyes widened, not believing I had just said that. I might as well paint a sign over my head that screams ‘Not ready for sex just yet!’

“And she’s too young for that,” Dad added sternly and Natalia looked at him.

“Is her virginity or her beating heart more important at this moment?”

My faced flushed even more as I bent over, clutching my cheeks. Why were they discussing this so casually?!

To that my father had no reply. Of course he would want me alive more than anything.

Natalia chuckled suddenly, making me look back up hesitantly.

“I agree though, it’s too soon for you to mate. Just marking might be enough. I’m not certain if not completing the mating will make a difference yet then again, the transfusion of blood is through the marking process.”

“And that consists of?”

It was Annalise who spoke up. “The biting of the jugular vein where he would consume her blood and replace the same amount with his. Since she’s a pure being however, he’ll perhaps have to slit his neck in order for her to drink his blood.”

I shuddered, listening to this and not knowing how I’ll be able to do it. I was never a fan of blood and now I had to become some sort of cannibal?

“Are you sure this will stop the serum?” Dad asked and Natalia nodded with a smile.

“Mated pure beings are never affected by the serum and it fades after a few days. The combination of the two bloods will confuse the serum so that it can’t identify which blood scent to intensify.”
