Chapter Fourteen

My throat became dry and my head felt like it was spinning.

“Maybe we should get going, I’m desperate to see your house.” I looked back to Seb.

“Brilliant, I’ll go pay for the drinks. And because I’m a gentleman I’ll carry your bag too.” He joked.

“I’ll meet you outside,” I flashed a smile. I could feel his gaze on me as I stared at the table. Keep calm. Keep calm. I took a daring look up to see him still sitting there waiting for me to do something. In the corner of my eye I saw Seb go outside. He knew exactly what I was going to do because there was nowhere else to go. I took a deep breath and leapt out of my chair. I had my eyes set on the door and walked as fast as I could. I swiped the door open and jumped outside, the cool summer breeze felt refreshing on my clammy skin. Seb stood leaning against a lamp post with my backpack slung over his shoulder. I felt like when I go downstairs at night to get a drink then end up sprinting up the stairs because you feel like someone’s chasing you. The difference is…I actually did have someone chasing me. I was convinced I would get to him before I was stopped. Suddenly my left arm was yanked back forcing me to stop. Lucas’ fingers were wrapped around my wrist. I was spun round to come face to face with the monster. His hands gripped onto my upper arms holding me in place.

“You are not going with him,” he ordered simply. He looked down at me sternly, his expression deadly serious.

“Roxy?!” Seb called after me, I heard his footsteps approaching. Before I knew it Lucas was stepping in front of me defensively.

“What did I tell you?” Lucas demanded angrily as he pointed at Seb.

“This is the weirdo that attacked me outside the toilets.”

“Just ignore him and lets go,” I sighed and tried to pass Lucas. He put his arm out and blocked my path. Sebs eyes lit up as he looked past us both.

“Excuse me officer can I have your help,” Seb waved. I looked over my shoulder to see a police officer strolling towards us. ‘Brilliant this is all I need,’ I ran my fingers through my hair with frustration.

“Is there a problem Sir?” the male officer stopped beside Lucas and questioned him with a concerned expression. Lucas stepped towards the officer and began having a quite word meanwhile Seb was walking over towards me. I finally thought I’d actually be able to get away from Lucas but was naïve to think that a police officer would stop him.

“Right then lets-“ Seb was cut off by Lucas jumping in front of me again.

He grabbed him by the throat “Listen to me. You are going to forget you ever met Roxy and you’re going to go home, carry on with your life and if you ever see her again you will not know who she is…” Lucas explained calmly.

“Get off him,” I growled and tried my best to shove Lucas with both hands. Seb stood looking like a zombie, no expression in his face.
