                                “Just let it go,”

The words echoed through Alonzo’s mind, as he sat on his board, in the water. The blue horizon was at his back, as the wave approached… Alonzo closed his eyes, closing his vision, as his mind’s eye relayed over the past week’s events…

                                “Just let it go,”

Tracey looked at the window, as Alonzo sat there with Kylie. Silence ticked by, keeping pace with the loud ticking coming from the clock on the wall. “So you really are going through with this?”

“Yep,” Alonzo breathed. Kylie sat there on the bed, in Tracey’s arms.  She looked away from her daughter, as to hold back her tears. “I’m going to rehab…I’m trying to change,”

“Trace…you know, there will always be something between you and I- we have a beautiful daughter, and you know I’ll always care for you, because you are Kylie’s mother…but, I have moved on,” said Alonzo. Tracey looked to him, to his eyes…

                                “Do you love her?”

                                Alonzo nodded.

Tracey smiled wryly. “Take care of our daughter…and if she mistreats her, you know I will kick her ass. I know you will do a great job, Alonzo. You already have,”

“You know once you are out and clean, call me…I will let you spend time with Kylie,” said Alonzo. Tracey smiled. “Thank you,”

“Say good bye to Mommy…she has to get some rest, so the doctors can help her get better,” said Alonzo. Kylie gave her mother a hug, and a wet kiss on the cheek. “Bye Mommy…get better,”

“I will,” squeaked Tracey. Alonzo picked up Kylie into his arms, and left the rehab ward…he put Kylie into the carseat, then got into the car. Kylie started to play with the My Little Pony figure, as Alonzo started the Wagoneer, and left the center…

                                “Just let it go,”

Alonzo arrived at the house, as Cerrina walked out, putting her suitcases into the car. Their parents stood outside, with their mother holding Kylie. She stood there. “I’m back to Oakland…I should have word on my job by the end of the week, then I’m moving to San Fran. I’ll send you listing of spots…is it gonna be just you, or are you Criss staying together?”

“I don’t know…we hadn’t discussed that yet,” answered Alonzo. “I would say I’m gonna miss you, but I’ll be up there in about a month or so,”

Cerrina laughed, as Alonzo gave her a tight hug. “Thank you for helping me get it right,”

“That’s what big sisters are for,” said Cerrina. Alonzo released her, as she got into her Fusion. Kylie waved out. “Bye Auntie Ce-Ce!”
